Because, when Square was making the original Final Fantasy, they thought it would be their last game. It just happened to be really popular.

Gee, aren't I a well of useless knowledge?

about final fantasy:
it was named that because the company was going to be sold to someone else so they made their "last" game and called it final fantasy.
the game saved the company and they continued the name/theme.
Actually, no it wasn't. It was named that because the designer, Sakaguchi, planned to quit after he finished the game. It was going to be his final game for Square.

Sakaguchi discusses it here. [http://www.developmag.com/news/28960/Sakaguchi-discusses-the-development-of-Final-Fantasy]

Wait so you like skate as a title? But it's lame? Do you even know what you like?

[insert JRPG here.] Seriously theirs a hundred. One of my favorite bad titles is "Infinite Undiscovery" I mean seriously? How can you undiscover something infinite times, how do you even undiscover something in the first place? Do you forget about what you discovered?
Haha, you my friend have stumbled upon the worst, most confusing title ever.
And then there is "Divine Divinity" and its sequel "Beyond Divinity"

Wow ... just wow. They aren't even JRPGs, which might help excuse such blatant mis-use of the English language.

Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow.

The title had little to nothing to do with the plot, so 'Nuff said.

Even though I love this game, the title is an oxymoron: Uncharted. How is this game 'uncharted' at all? the places you visit are clearly on the map, how else would you get there? Also, wouldn't be more fitting to have an almost free-roaming environment gameplay? Yet, it's as linear as a drag race track.

Also another game with a semi non-exciting title is Silent Hill: The Room. Just think about it, if you didn't know what Silent Hill was, or how fucked up the 'room' is, this would be one of the most unappealing titles ever.

It does in a way, the terrorist is going to detonate a bio-weapon in an airport, hence the missile being pandora's box

Resident Evil. So evil owns a house? Biohazard is a much better name.
The reason it was changed to Resident Evil is due to trademark/copyright problems.

and watch out for EA Sports new games this year:

Madden 10, NHL 10, etc.

10?! WHY?! Why not 2010? It sounds so much better and fulfilling than just ten.

No, you see, there's guest evil sometimes, but this game is about the resident evil, much like a resident DJ at a club.

The game itself is amazing, it revolutionized the skating genre, and in one game, ruled tony hawk games obsolete.
