Nope; I specifically said attack, and a wimpy grapple half-attempt isn't one. Varstl saves his arrows for something meatier; speaking of, is that all the cultists attempt?

Looks like that's all the cultists are doing. I'm waiting for everyone with higher initiative than me (read: everybody else) to go before I do anything.

Putting OOC comments in a spoiler box like this is a good idea, by the way. I'm totally stealing it.

You can hear one cultist mumble "Pathetic" but most of them seem quite concerned.

(Feel free to go, fellas.)

If it's not a combat at the moment, does that mean Luja's ranged attack doesn't have that -4 to hit? If so, it means a roll of a 15 instead of an 11. Still only doing 2 damage if it hits, but still...

And do you mean "go" as in "the actions we had previously stated" or "go" as in "new round, get attacking"?

(Okay, let's see if I can get things in order then.)

Semong let fly a bolt that nicked one of the frightened cultists, who exclaimed "AH! I'M SHOT!" which had a rippling effect of fear around him. Varstl and Velve seemed to be waiting for something, so Luja called out "Zem! Run! There's too many of 'em!" and fired an arrow dealing another cultist an injury. The cultists seemed both frightened and angered, and one of them slightly amused.

(It's Velve next I believe. And then the cultists will retaliate.)

You know, I'm getting suspicious of the one who finds this amusing. Whoever they are, they've just seen two of their kind get shot... and they're amused.

Semong frowned at the amused cultist. Something about him wasn't right; in Semong's experience, cultists were much more upset when you broke up their party. He made a few quick gestures and began fading out of view.

I'm casting Invisibility, and setting my dodge on the amused one. We'll see how amused he is in a few minutes...
Anywho, I act simultaneously with the cultists, so if they attack me for whatever reason I think I'll have to take a concentration check to cast: (Roll)13+(Con skill level)5=18
If this all works I'm going to move towards the smirker. Semong assumes that with the sounds of melee he doesn't need to be sneaky, plus he's cocky.

What am I, third in the Initiative stakes or something this time around? Luja is not pleased by his fumble. Anyway, since Semong (Init 17) has put his action in, the cultists will go at the same time as Semong and Velve doesn't seem to have actually done anything...

Readying another arrow, Luja fires off a second shot towards the cultists.

Attack roll 10 (Dammit, Luja!). Total modifier +4, "firing into combat" -4. So it's ten again. I hit on an 11 last time though, so I wonder if this will work as well (There *are* many cultists there, perhaps that's why I hit on such a low number)...

Damage roll 1. Luja has a ranged damage *penalty* of 1. If this hits, does that mean it goes down to 0 damage? Damn, they're wearing some tough robes.

Arrows remaining: 17/20.

If the arrow hits, Luja makes a mental note to steal the robes off that cultist later. They're obviously armour-plated or something...

(Blayze, perhaps you hit the part of their shoe between their toes? Still 'hits' but doesn't do damage.)

The cultists move around awkwardly. You get the impression they've been alone in this place without intrusion for a long time. Two of them slip away, and the one that was amused earlier is now chuckling to himself.

Great, I've given one of them a need to visit a cobbler. On the other hand, I've just given them a sweet-ass "shoe arrow" weapon and talking point. If so, I'll have to nab that shoe.

Edit: Also, Chuckles over there needs to die.

Wow, I didn't sign up for a chuckler. Things just hit the fan now. Still, Chucky's going down and I'm heading his way. /boast

Hey, I need to ask a favor; could everybody currently involved with the little cultist situation PM me a description of their characters? Physical description, what weapon you're using, and what class you are is all I need; no numbers required! You'll find out why.

"This is a madhouse," Varstl mumbles to himself. Confident that he's yet to be spotted and crossbow at the ready, the dwarf continues his way around the group; should one of them try something silly, he's more than prepared to splatter the contents of their skulls onto the grass. Especially their obnoxious leader.

16+10=26. The dew-covered grass muffles his flanking movements, and he remains within Sneak Attack distance. Once again, Varstl attempts to hide.
4+10=14. Aw, hell.
Varstl, once again, readies a crossbow shot for the first Cultist to make an attack action. As an afterthought, he puts special emphasis on the laughing man: if more than one Cultist makes an attempt to attack, the laughing man takes presidence.

(You guys are delightful. I can hardly wait to see what BeeL wants to do.)

The chuckling man stops as another cultist looks at him suspiciously. "Ahem" he coughs, putting on a straight face.

Zem laughs. "Good to see that someone is finding this as amusing as it should be," he says. He bows towards the laughing cultist.

If Velve doesn't post within another day, can I go? We're running out of things to do while waiting for him...
Sorry, but I was away from home for some days
Velve charges the nearest of the hooded beings closest to him, and let's out a cry of rage!
roll 13 + 8 bonus - 1 (powerstrike) = 20
Damage = roll (6+4) = 10+ 7 (bonus) + 2(power strike) = 19
His blade cut's in to his enemy, just the way Velve likes it.

EDITED DAMAGE

(Let me know the real damage if you can, please. Until then:)

The cultist Velve strikes at falls to the ground in a bloody, unconscious mess. A few cultists scream, and one of them goes "Oh-ho!"

Zem seized his chance as the cultists are distracted by Velve. He waved away the remains of his lights and lept from the pillar he had been standing on, counting on the sudden darkness to hide his location from seeking eyes. He tossed his shortspear to his left, sending it clattering across the broken stone to distract the cultists further. Slipping behind a wall he pulled his crossbow from his back, hoping the cultists would be fooled as to where he now was.

Move Silently total of 18, not sure what bonuses the sudden darkness and noise distraction might give that. Hopefully I've handed the focus of attention over to someone with enough AC to survive it.
