Yup I'd say that too if I was the head of a company banking on pushing out a copy pasted version of the same dog shit sandwich I have been peddling for the past 5 years and also hoping people are gullable enough or stupid enough to buy the accompaning SUBSCRIPTION based DVR system as well. Lol.

I had already planned on buying BF3 and not buying MW3, but now I'm going to buy it for each system I own, PC, PS3, and 360, just to do my part to try and help BF3 say FUCK YOU Bobby Fagballs. Plus my money wont be totally in spite, I have friends that I will be playing it with on each system.

Gotta agree with this statement.

However, the game just feels right. It's crisp and responsive in a way that I hardly consciously notice.
That's a mark of perfection I guess. It's understated. I didn't even think about it until I tried playing Crysis and found myself longing for a more manouverable and agile tool between my hands.

I didn't know it ran at 60 fps though. Guess that explains why Forza feels so good too.
yeah - this is why, to me, COD feels better than any other shooter. It just moves so fluidly and precisely. there's no input lag at all, something every other console shooter I've played cannot boast.

MW2 - biggest entertainment product ever.

Black ops - even bigger. Kicked Avatar's ass.

I don't see it failing just yet.

it sounds pretty stupid to talk down Koticks point while backing it up with claims that have nothing to do with reality
nobody knows if the frostbite 2 engine works that well on consoles(especially ps3)
so some doubt is appropriate

just wait a few years and people will be talking down on battlefield 6 and praising whoever is then the underdog...
it kinda gets boring

I was gonna say, but, damn you!

Being centered on consoles alone, that's so last year. I hope DICE will make fun of their competition in their game again, just like in Battlefield Bad Company 2.

As a respectful and respectable CEO of the biggest videogame company on the planet
Hah, good one.

OT: I still say BF3 is by far the better game. This is, as everyone's said, Kotick being a dick and trying to throw a twig in the gears. The same gears that, I might add, DICE have been taking out, upgrading entirely, re-polishing, and making sure they fit in the machine every couple of years, whereas IW/Treyarch have been simply giving their gears a shiny new paint job every year, and they were great at first, but haven't truly changed with the times.

Alright, so I got carried away with the metaphor. The point is, MW3 looks good. It looks as good as the past four games have. I might add it looks a tad better. I enjoyed all four of the past four games immensely, as well. By no means will MW3 be bad.

It's just, in comparison with how stunning BF3 looks, MW3 has been shown up entirely. There has been absolutely no word on any upgrades MW3 has compared to it's predecessors, while BF3 is looking ready to break all capable boundaries with Frostbite 2.

A lot of people have said that Call of Duty is the same game every year, and while I'd still disagree, on some levels (Drastically different settings, characters, stories, etc) I can now see entirely where they are coming from (Gameplay, audio, animation, etc). Like I said, a different coat of paint on the same gears.

I'm not a fan of Battlefield or Call of Duty but I'm sincerely hoping BF3 smashes the shit out of MW3 and leaves the franchise in ruins while DICE/EA profit.

The COD and Bobby Kotick era needs to end.

Oh silly Kotick, aren't you really just increasing awareness of Battlefield? [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/110609-Activision-CEO-Thanks-EA-for-Raising-Awareness-of-COD]

What's horrible about this whole thing is that MW3, regardless of basically being the same exact game as the last 3 CoD games, is going to sell over 10 million copies. Battlefield, being a lesser-known product to the larger gaming community (and no, people that read gaming news are NOT the larger gaming community, it's everyone that doesn't pay attention to the industry that is), is unlikely to sell nearly as many copies despite being the better title.

"Modern Warfare 3 is the result of an enormous amount of audience research and it is what our tens of millions of players are saying they'd like to see in their next action experience,"
Oh dear. Does he really not know that is just about the worst thing you can do?
We don't know sh*t.

Everyone knows that Battlefield 3 will be better than MW3. Battlefield looks like an amazing improvement over its predecessors (which is saying something because they're amazing in themselves), while I just saw footage of MW3, and could have easily told myself I was watching CoD4! Activision aren't changing their game, so they will fail. Sure, MW3 will sell, but that's because it's audience is extraordinarily thick and are perfectly content with shelling out for the same damn game every year like they're buying freaking Madden!

EA and DICE are really stepping up their game, and I for one think that Battlefield 3 will absolutely crush MW3 into the ground this year. At the very least from a reviewer and critical standpoint. I doubt from a sales standpoint because Activision have already captured the aformentioned dumbass audience with an average age of 14.

They shouldn't complain about PC sales, if all they give PC gamers is crappy console ports. PC gamers are smart enough not to pay 50-60bucks for a mediocre game and then pay even more for map packs.
Black Ops is one of the worst PC shooters I've played in years.

I'm going to buy BF3, if it really is a PC game at heart.

For once i agree with Kotick but i've been saying it since BF3 was first announced.
Critics and shooter fans are all saying the pc version is the one to get, anyone who doesn't have thousands of £'s to spend on a new pc is out, so get the inferior console version and live with it.

Not quite as tempting an offer as the fully functional MW3.

I have no doubts the console versions of BF3 will work just fine, you'll just have to temper your expectations, it's not as good as the e3 demos.
