EA and Valve are Pretty Similar

Valve has only release other peoples stuff. Portal ..Started as a mod...Counter Strike ...same. Not to mention the blatant disrespect and down right mean spirited way they troll us about Half life.. In a lot of ways Valve is worse than Ea at least EA does not try and Fake who they are we all know EA are jerks,Valve have been tricking us into thinking they are a good company for years.

Thing is, if EA tried to do the teasing the fans thing they'd charge for it as DLC.

At least Valve give us the Half Life teasing for free!

The key difference is that EA makes so many poor quality, over budgeted, poorly planned/scheduled sequels out of their franchises that they just end up running them into the ground, while Valve takes a ludicrous amount of time to come out with sequels but tends to do a good job of it.
Also EA charges for DLC while valve usually does not, in fact, Valve has a tendency to continue developing content for their games free of charge for years after they are released (hats don't count), while EA charges for extra content the day their games come out.

The idea is that with every new update comes an opportunity to:

a. create a new customer
b. increase loyalty in current customers
c. do something interesting that helps with future game development

It's a different style of thinking. Valve doesn't care about money any less than EA does, they just aren't in a race to cut as many throats as possible and sow dissent among their fans like EA is.

Exactly! Valve tries to get more customers, EA tries to get more money per customer; naturally, people are going to prefer the former to the ladder.

I do want to mention though, that EA published Valve's titles on consoles. Also, Steam was made before Half-Life 2, not after. Besides that, I loved it. Thank you.

EDIT: Whoops! Sorry, not just console, I meant all of Valve's retail games are distributed by EA.

I almost hate to admit it, but this made me laugh heartily. Namely because I could actually imagine it happening.

And another thing about EA is that they are cartoonishly evil. Valve are just irritatingly arrogant, it's the difference between Nero and Caesar.

I'll let ya'll figure which is which.

Toughy. One would think that Caesar's organized power and authority would lend him to being EA, while his immense popularity with his constituents would imply that he is Valve. Nero's general association with disorganization would lead people to compare him to the anarchic nature of Valve's development crew, but his self-destructive nature would hearken back the nature of EA's treatment of franchises.

So, no. I cannot see who is being compared to whom.
