Um... no. I'm no fan of EA, but this video leaked exaggerated, butt-hurt, immature, self-indulgent, bias whining from every pore.
While it is obviously exagerated, but most (if not all) of the criticisms it raises against EA are perfectly valid. Their tendency to buy out and destroy smaller companies is well documented and awful, and they are still doing it (Say byebye to Bioware!) They demand that content be made (or even removed from the game) to be sold later as DLC, and have an abysmally inept and provocative marketing division, The privacy rights they brought in with Origin has been an absolute fiasco.

I don't really know about their DLC, because it's been years since I bought an EA game, and too many companies impose impossible deadlines and streamline and simplify their original IPs to solely call EA out on doing that (although they are still guilty of it) But once they've bought a company over you can pretty much be assured that the series it made will just plummet in quality.
and it is video's like this, that reduce all the actual argument to a cartoon level, retard slap-fight (with a small aside to point to Gabe as the faultless messiah of the industry of course), are the very things that hold back the community as a whole from being taken seriously. I am in no means on EA's side when it comes to these things, but if you were a successful business-person, an adult, and you saw this video, who would you see? Would you see an insightful individual who you have wronged? Do you see someone who has the pull to actually hurt your business if you don't start trying herder to please them? Or do you just see a little ***** making himself look as silly as possible while he cries like a baby, who you have absolutely no reason to listen to?

I know who I see.

I want these things to get better, that's exactly why clogging up the issue with shit like this pisses me off, because it is completely counter-productive. One retard shits all over himself while trying to make a point, calling anyone who has the gall to want to buy a game made by a company they don't like a mindless sheep, then a million other retard act like actual mindless sheep, hollering their support and then going away feeling like they've done their 'sticking it to the man' for the day.

and all the while, what actually changed?

Blah blah EA is the devil blah blah etc, gotcha.

Anyway, I find the video description pretty amusing, if I take this as a serious thing and not a just for fun thing anyway. The whole "This is for..." thing is just funny for several reasons.

Calling out Need for Speed specifically, after already covering the 'ruining game devs' in the first line. How dare you EA. How dare you ruin several game companies! How dare you also ruin this one game series! No other series has ever been ruined quite like this one series that I like.

-This is for releasing the same things every year, an increasingly large number being the only difference.
-This is for forcing your customers to stay online to even play several games you publish at all.

Yeah EA! This is a terrible business practice that only you do! The most successful yearly release certainly isn't a game published by Activision or anything.

-This is for overhyping your games and not delivering the content you promised.
Translation: this is for having a marketing department! And it's not like there's a common phrase about being repeatedly fooled by things either.

But really the best part of this, again assuming it's supposed to be a serious thing, is that the "this is for..." attitude is basically saying "I made this funny video, that'll show them!"

That being said, I thought the video was amusing as well.

I'm not a fan of EA and their stereotypical cyberpunk megacorp chenanigans either, but... C'mon, they're holding loads of interesting titles ransom. Although come to think of it, most games EA's been in charge of pruning would probably be better off left with the kidnappers.

I'm starting to think that some people see EA as a literal Captain Planet villain.

This is EA in a nutshell:

EA: "Oh, my! I appear to be trapped inside an enormous nutshell! This is crazy, how did I end up here?"
EA continues: "Hmm... how can I monetize this? Maybe we can sell the nutshell... but if someone actually thought they would get nuts then they'll just have to buy that later."

I think EA is slacking. I want stories of them having suicide inducing work conditions, or child labour, or polluting water supplies around the world.

Then we'll know they finally made it.

Not exactly subtle but still quite funny. Love how wound up people are getting about it and it isn't even page two yet. Can there be a single on this thread without somebody calling somebody else whiny or entitled?

If people stopped buying their games and made it clear why they stopped then EA will change its business practices. Problem solved
You're giving them too much credit. When people did that to Ubisoft they claimed it was piracy's fault. EA says it's the used game market.

No, but I want to know if you really "like" it or you just have "neutral" feelings towards it.

Which is why the gaming community needs to let them know clearly why they're boycotting them in the first place.

I actually like them. It isnt that hard to grasp seeing as they published great games.
So you are giving them credit for that? Dude, give me money and I'll publish any game you want, doesn't make me any likeable.

That's like saying that Steve Jobs was a wonderful person because he pushed for the sales of great products (subjective).

So you're trying to tell me my opinion is wrong?
No, I am telling you that you're mixing two unrelated things together.

They have also released a ton of shit games, by your logic every publisher should be "bad".

so...

I can't like EA and the games they publish?
Again, you are mixing things that aren't mutually exclusive just to prove your point. Just because there is a relation doesn't mean that they are "holding hands".

I could say my t-shirt scares away tigers. I don't see any tiger around. Doesn't mean I am telling the truth because correlation does not imply causation.

So I am going to answer that question with another question: why does publishing a game (something any retard with money can do - Konami I am looking at you) make someone betterin your opinion, even if they can't take credit for what they are publishing?

"This is for supporting the S.O.P.A."
Yeah, don't forget we're supposed to be "boycotting" E3 because of the ESA supporting that bile-filled bill.

On a happier note, I loved the classic Spongebob voice clips.
