She should sue EA for using her likeness (or Michael Sera's) without permission. That'll teach them to correct their mistakes!

If only they would fix things more often...
Did you actually read the article? They asked if she would like to and she agreed. She and her father gave full permission for the avatar.
No, but I was joking, so does it actually matter?.

Well, we all know EA is more than happy to get positive publicity, especially among women. I bet the next Madden will have female avatars.
I'd be happy to be able to play my own gender in the next FIFA title, if they're looking for suggestions.

Sorry, it's hard to tell if you are serious or not over the internet.

That's really sweet.

Good on EA, they get too much slack these days.
*looks at Battlelog*
They're not getting enough. I can deal with Origin, but fuck Battlelog.
What's wrong with Battlelog? It's stupid how you have to launch Battlefield 3 with it, but otherwise it's a fine stat-tracking service.

It seems with Battlelog I constantly get dropped from games. Steam I never have problems. Maybe its just bad luck, but I tend to over react and get pissed when I get dropped from a game while I was KICKING ASS.

I thought the second sentence would've tipped you off, but no harm done I guess. It's happened to me too.

Hmmm, odd. Never happened to me. Sorry to hear that.

Nah, I was tired when I wrote that and didn't pay a lot of attention to anything past the first few words :p

GOOD THINGS EA HAS DONE IN RECENT MEMORY:
This

BAD THINGS EA HAS DONE IN RECENT MEMORY:
Online Passes
Always on DRM
the Dante's Inferno ad campaign
the Dead Space 2 ad campaign
backing down and pulling the Taliban team name from Medal of Honor
pulling all their games off Steam
Annual EA sports games
Origin
Origin Bans
Origin spyware
making Battlefield 3 Origin exclusive (I just really hate Origin, okay)
supporting SOPA
crappy customer service

Not batting a thousand guys...
Don't forget promising people free copies of Battlefield 1942 if they got BF3 and then, once they'd bought BF3, just not doing it.
And also turning Bad Company from a funny shooter into a CoD clone.

A girl in the NHL? Even I feel like that's pandering. A nice gesture, but I think it's more important to be accurate rather than politically correct.

Whether or not it's a publicity stunt for EA doesn't matter. What does is that a fourteen year old reminded us of something we should all do when we disagree with something: say so, but do it in a mature and reasonable manner.

Somehow, somewhere this is going to bite that girl in the ass. The internet will remember. Heck she might someday stumble upon a discussion about fapping to her ingame avatar. Yay internet.

Moo.
Wouldn't surprise me. Never going to 4chan again. Wasn't much my scene anyway.

ITT: Nobody's ever heard of Manon Rheaume.

While it's true she never played in a real game, she did play in exhibition games.

People also don't remember that at least one previous game in EA's NHL series did have female prospects you could draft. With pictures and everything.

That said, this little girl is still a whiner and needs to stop taking after Gloria Allred.

People still play sports games?

WOMEN play sports games?

Screw this, I'm out. Goin' back to Megaman Legends 1.

This gave me a huge aawwwww.

I may write up and complain about British accents, saying that there are more than just 1 or 2 in the country and try to trick my voice into a game lol

Not enough to make up for the fact that they support internet control. When that happens good things are ALL you will hear about with EA, as in any other kind of discussion will result in the website being destroyed. Sony and ea can go to hell

I swear I read about this like 6 months ago, yet the story is dated as "Nov 21, 2011". Either I'm getting a really strong deja vu or something is amiss here.

Cool, atleast EA isn't up to it's usual goat sacrificing behaviour. Though this creating your female will most likely go to hell the day the 'sex appeal' slider gets in there.. Because it will..
