EA has been a lot better than Activision in recent years, so I'll go with them. It has nothing to do with their games for me at this point, just how much of a dick they are.

Because everyone knows Atlus is awesome, and in a debate, having a third party that everyone loves is cheating.

If this is about the corporations, then I hate them both, and I'm not going to choose. Activision seems to be run by dickheads (read: Bobby Kotick), while EA makes so many cash grabs that it makes me want to cry.

If this is about the games that come under them, then I still can't decide. My three favorite game devs are Bioware, Blizzard and Bethesda, and EA and Activision own one of those devs each, so that doesn't help. I like Call of Duty, but I also like Dead Space. I like - well, I won't list anything else, but the companies seem pretty much even concerning who has more quality games, and who has more, well, crappy ones.

I failed to choose. So sue me.

/edit: Ok, just realized that Activision has made some pretty damn bad grabs for money as well, so I'll go with EA solely on the basis of their not being dicks.

Both are money mad, both don't really care about their consumers, both aren't really better than drug dealers; they sell because they know people will buy, they both release similar quality games, some good, some bad

Very easy choice, EA, they've improved a lot since buying bioware, there's of course still a lot to go but Activision is currently corporate Satan in the video game industry.

I have to go with EA. I love the need for speed series. It is the only series I know of that has gone from extremely epic (hot pursuit 2) to complete crap (undercover) back to extremely epic (hot pursuit 2010). EA knows when to change things.

EA - they gave Mirror's Edge 2 the greenlight despite poor sales and taking risks with releasing Mirror's Edge in the first place. Much more creativity coming out of them.

Plus, there isn't a single current Activision game I'm interested in, and it doesn't look like they're taking risks with new IPs, so why would I care about the next CoD or Guitar Hero?

EA's got plenty of games I'm interested in. I like baseball games, so there's MLB 12 or whatever. I like boxing games, so there's Fight Night Champion. EA MMA isn't quite up to snuff yet, but they might pull off some awesome stuff by drawing on what they learned from FNC.

Yeah, dead easy decision.

I dislike Activision. Too many rehashes low quality titles. I liked Modern Warfare 1, Prototype, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance, but aside from those (and possibly their sequels) I have no interest in Activision's games. I don't buy Activision games.

Of the 19 Xbox 360 games I own, 8 of them are by EA. They tend to do a lot of things I dislike, but overall they're as willing to take a risk as any other publisher. They're good at making games with a cult following and they publish some of my favorite developers (Harmonix, DICE, and Criterion).

I not only prefer EA, I outright like EA.

I'm not sure I understand the point of this. Also, why on earth would we have allegiance to corporate entities? They are self-interested, so we should be too. Buy whatever product you think is worth your money. Why does it matter whose logo is on the box?

Even 3 years ago, when i was still mourning the death of westwood, EA. I hated EA, then.

Last year, everyone started hating Activision for breaking IW. and i joined along for some time before realizing that i have no reason to do so, as i didn't like MW2 much anyway.

Overall, Activision's been green lighting more shit/un-innovative games than EA's been doing recently (Hey atleast it's not Crysis 10!), so i guess I'll side with EA for now.

But the moment they interfere with Bioware's business, in any way.... I'm gone.

I would as well but I don't want to suffer death so I choose EA. It's because (like everyone else had said) the lesser of two evils.

EA; they have some really good development companies like Visceral and Bioware and are trying to be less evil than in the past.

Activision; while they have Blizzard and the juggernaut that is WOW they also have a buffoon known as Bobby Kotick as their CEO, a nasty habit of eating game companies and extracting IP's before firing most of the workers. And have started to go the Madden way of producing games (producing a IP every year with minimal changes)

In terms of who I would choose it's going to have to be EA. They are less of a dick than Activision (then again you will be hard pressed to find a company that is a bigger dick than Activision)
Ok, I do admit that Bobby Kotick alone is enough to make me jump ship to EA. But yeah, so far the valid points brought up in the thread is making me lean more towards EA at this point.

EA I dont see whats so bad about them? mabye somone could fill me in? plus they own alot of good IP like bioware and dead space
I think it was more in the past when they went on an acquiring spree of many smaller and very innovative publishers, and then forcing them to conform their products to more mainstream appeal, then giving impossible deadlines resulting in terrible and sometimes unplayable games. Anybody else around for the Ultima IX fiasco?
