>insert Bioware comment here<

EA really seems to not know what they have... but neither does Microsoft. ActiBliz is sort of the opposite, they think they have real talent in Bobby Kotick, when he's just a really big dick who sucks at his job, and everyone but Activision higher-ups seem to know this.

They tried to bring down CoD4 with Battlefield: Bad Company.

They failed.

They tried to bring down MW2 with Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

They failed.

They tried to bring down Black Ops with Medal of Honor.

They failed.

CoD has gotten to the point where NOTHING can beat it at this point.

Well, there always is Red Orchestra 2...

But really, considering how the Cod series is doing, its safe to say B3 can handle it.

They already published Brutal Legend, which is a thousand times better than CoD, and better than most games in general actually...
Agreed so much :) I love Brutal Legend.

Also, the last thing we need is more crap war shooters.
WE need more Jack black and demonic hotrods and METAL! Thats the answer. [sub]and maybe better gameplay[/sub]

...although I'm pretty sure a future game is confirmed.
When a game sells as well as this series has been, you can pretty much guarantee it to run far far past its welcome.

Not only for said series itself, but for all the imitators that spring up. Corporate gaming is ruled by trends after all.
I have to say I'm glad someone is making another sci-fi FPS, there seems to be so few of those now . And do not give me "WHAT ABOUT VANQUISH" I'm talking FPS here, and there seems to be a huge drop of futuristic FPSs lately. Looking forwards to BRINK though...

Somewhere, Respawn Entertainment is planning a game that will knock people's socks off.

My money is on Brink or Bulletstorm is gonna beat CoD if Battlefield doesn't.

Even though I like first person shooters, I Wish games would stop trying to beat CoD by making CoD-like games. I realize they are trying to reel in people that play CoD but thinking outside the box would be nice.

Agreed on the better gameplay unfortunately. It was great but it had the status of feeling unpolished due to the rushed campaign. I'm disappointed the sequel was cancelled, there's so much unexplored potential for it, an endless library of amazing metal songs to use and is the only game in the last few years I played that truly deserved a sequel.

But hey, apparently everybody likes War shooters...

A "better" game is a relative term. If they mean in quality and such, one could argue that they already did, since many people (myself included) don't find CoD games to be particularly good. A better FPS is what they were likely trying to say, but again, that's relative.

What they probably meant was a game that sells better than a CoD game, in which case I vow to grow my penis another 10 inches and bone every woman on my "100 most beautiful women of the world" list. I'll probably have more sucess than they do...

Hold up... My box to Mass Effect 2 has a nice EA sign in the bottom right corner... So haven't they already topped COD or most of the other games they've made? Or are they talking quantitative not qualitative?

Well for quality, they have many games... I mane they have Fight Night Round 4, Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age: Origins..The list goes on. Granted, as far as quality goes CoD 4 is still high on my list... The other games aren't bad but they seem a little samey.

For quantity... I'm doubting it, CoD is probably one of the best selling series on the planet.

Truthfully, I can see Battlefield 3 being very successful, but not enough to beat COD.
They haven't made it but they published it. Bad Company 2, I feel quite an idiot for getting rid of it

Already did it. The multiplayer in MoH is way better than CoD.
I don't think so.... look at the reviews. *snigger*
I don't give a damn about the reviews, MoH multiplayer is 10 times better than COD's.

I believe that the Battlefield Series is already better than Call of Duty. Call of Duty's multiplayer is nowhere as good as Battlefields. The last Call of Duty I really enjoyed was CoD4, after that I was disappointed. I am always playing Battlefield 2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2.
