I don't hate the game. I just found it mediocre and underwhelming for a Bioware RPG.
You are entitled to your opinion. Everyone is. That's the
bad thing about the Internet, because people will throw their negative opinion (as you have done) of something into the faces of unsuspecting masses. And those masses are usually consistent out of sheep.
A "good" opinion is one that is balanced, but sadly the current trend (and now
I am looking at you, Escapist) is to blatantly disregard and disrespect the work of others and do whatever possible to drag them down.
People should remember that your average human will take more from seeing, experiencing and hearing something
bad, than from anything positive and reinforcing. It is in our nature to do so, and the Internet and the dreaded word of mouth is beginning to tick me off something fierce.
Was Dragon Age 2 a good game? Yes.
Was Dragon Age 2 a flawless game? Fuck no. There is no such thing ([small]Except Thief and Thief, the Metal Age *looks about shifty eyed*[/small])
Does it deserve the slandering and kicking and badmouthing that it's getting? No.
Does it deserve to be praised to the heavens? No.
I could write up a whole boatload of criticism for Dragon Age 2, but it would be a shit practice to pretend it's the end of all things RPG from BioWare or that BioWare has sold themselves to the devil. I understand, and that is where most people trip over, that I am
not entitled to get the perfect experience out of something
I think would be best, because
I am not the person slaving away on the game.
Now for a very personal opinion, which I would, of course, never force on anyone:
Dragon Age 2 was neither mediocre, nor underwhelming--unless you go through it with half your eyes closed and half your brain shut down of course.
