The Elder Scrolls Of Oblivion.
I didn't know where the fuck to go at first and that ended with me getting my ass mauled in a oblivion gate.

Mine had to be that damn swinging point in the climb to Shinra Tower in Final Fantasy 7. That climb up the rubble to reach the plate above, y'know? I was stuck at that friggin thing for HOURS. No matter what I tried, I still missed the stupid swinging thing repeatedly. Seriously frustrating.

The first boss in TLoZ: Twilight Princess... =_=
True it was only my second Zelda game, but I had kicked the ass of Ocarina of Time before that. It's those last two hits you have to land on Diababa, I threw bombs at it for at least half an hour before I finally killed the bastard... I still don't know exactly what I have to do to get the bombs to hit it.

(Adorable avatar by the way OP)

I do it all the time, I search for something complex for ages when all you have to do is press a small button or some such

The first boss battle in Rygar for PS2. That's where I learned the game will add insult to injury by unlocking easy mode upon dying three times.

Mirror's Edge is apparently easy, if you believe my many friends who tell me so. But me? I struggled badly with some parts.

As for a section of a particular game, I was playing Golden Sun 2 for the first time. Had NO idea that you could jump on top of pillars, so I spent 20 minutes staring at the edge of a ledge, wondering where the heck I could go 'cause all there was in front of me was a pillar, before logging onto GameFAQs in pure frustration.

Took me forever how to hack things in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Of course I can do it very easily now but for some reason I just couldn't figure it out when I first played.

A part of Roscoe Street Station (or a level just after it) has you messing about in tunnels. It was so dark I couldn't hardly see my own character, let alone anything else. I kept dying to enemies I couldn't find. Also, there's no way to adjust the brightness of the game in the options, so if you don't wanna mess up your TV settings, you best learn to find things the way blind people do.

The Punisher has a similar problem, but it can be completely fixed by way of the in-game brightness menu. Once again Frank Castle kicks Payne's pasty white butt.

I found the first level in hitman 2 (not the tutorial) incredibly hard to do stealthily. I could never get past the gates, even after dropping all my weapons and dressing as a postman. It was a lot easier and a lot more satisfying to just shoot eveyone in the face.
The delivery boy ran me over. And I got shot for that.
so 47 starts with dual silverballers, and we are expected to be all mature and that and go in stealthy and that... i think for me, im too impatient to go through the game that way...

the third level of Battletoads in Battlemaniacs
OW WAIT NO ONE CAN DO THAT

I'd have to go with...
the freaking lizard in shadow of the collosus in the colloseum
it took me 5 hours at least to FIGURE OUT how to do it

>.< I feel your pain on that one! I struggled with a few bosses in that game! I'm still struggling with the lizard in time attack on hard mode!

It's an awesome game though!
