Eating Routines

I've noticed that in the past few weeks, I've developed an eating routine. By routine, I mean I literally eat the same things everyday. It's a little odd but I noticed that this routine usually pops up a couple of times a year for the past four years.

-a piece of fruit when I wake up (90% of the time it's a banana)
-40 min later: egg white scramble with asparagus (always), mushrooms (once in a while; spinach), and feta
-1 hr later: greek yogurt with strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. sometimes I dice up fig.
-salad with lots of veggies, cashews, and goat cheese for lunch
-fruit for a snack: either apple/pear/berries
-sometimes greek yogurt for a snack
-dinner is a small variety. Sometimes a salad with chicken, sometimes a chicken breast with some sort of glaze and a side of sauteed random veggies. Twice a week, I make pita chips and turn them into a nachos with sauteed summer squash, zucchini, eggplant, artichoke, red pepper, topped with goat cheese and feta.
-snack of cherries

Although I do enjoy everything I eat immensely, I find it odd how everything is automatic and how this routine will just happen.

So, escapists, do you have an eating routine? What is it and how do you feel about it?

... If you were British, I'd make a joke about how European and terribly middle-class you are...

BTW what's the appeal of goat's cheese (never had it, though it's been recommended to me)?

OT: Aside from timing, not really. Though being on a tight budget means that I've only eaten a small variety of vegetables. Lunch, however, is almost invariably egg-fried rice with some form of meat and mixed vegetables (of the packaged frozen sort...) when I'm at uni. Breakfast will typically consist of cereal, fruit and a cup of strong coffee.

Here is mine. Eat fast food at 12pm or later. Depends on when I wake up. Then I eat fast food a few hours before I go to sleep. Around 12pm or later. So twice a day.

I have worked very hard to kick this habit in the past, but I hate having to go to the grocery store all the time to pick up things that go with other things. I always run out of one thing before the other and its annoying.

I'm always a nice person, as long as I'm well-fed. So, my eating habits?
I get up, eat a slice of bread and drink a glass of milk. Then I eat a cookie of some sort at around ten. When it is noon, I eat more bread, sometimes an egg. At three I eat some more cookies and some soda. Crips or peanuts or something like that at 4:30, dinner at 7, and sometimes even more cookies lateron in the evening. This is waht it should be like and mostly comes down to on a regular day, but everything that isn't a regular day, goes pretty far off from this.

Goat's cheese is sooooo delicious. It's got a lot more taste than cow's cheese.
Also: Buffalo Mozzarella! *___*

OT: I would probably have some kind of routine if it wasn't for my boyfriend. We have very different sleeping and eating habits, so I usually end up complying to his eating habits so we can have meals together... which are irregular to say the least. -_-

I'm kind of not eating very much at all right now. Just toast in the morning and a deli sandwich before bed. It's all I feel I need anyway.

I definitely have a morning one. Bowl of oatmeal, two pieces of multigrain bread, mug of tea, glass of water, meds.

And god help anyone who bothers me before I've had meds and enough tea to start to feel vaguely like a human being instead of a walking zombie.

To be fair, I only really eat cheese with pasta these days, so using goat's cheese might be a bit of a waste.

Still, buffalo mozzarella?! Good grief, where do you get that from?!

A couple of stores have it here in Germany as well as Italian Trattorias. Original Mozzarella is always made from buffalo milk. Cow's Milk mozzarella has only been around since it's been produced industrially.

Reminds me of a funny research article I read a while back.

There were two groups of test persons who had to pick snacks to eat during the afternoon over a few weeks.

The first group had to pick every snack of that week at the start of the week. They generally made a very varied list with different snacks every day.

The second group had to pick each snack just before they ate it. They generally chose the same snack every day.

After every snack they had to fill in a very small questionnaire (how much did you enjoy the snack?, did you wish you'd picked something else? etc.).

In the end it turned out that those who picked the same snack every time enjoyed their snacks the most and had no regrets. Those that picked a different snack every time enjoyed them the least and often wished they'd picked something else.

Dear lord, is that what the world's come to... Germany having better culinary taste than England?! =P /jk

Anyway, about mozzarella, that I didn't know... though I'll be lucky to find any of it over here (philistines as most Brits tend to be, food-wise...).

I don't think about it, when hungry I wander into the kitchen and look for food. When sated, or if there isn't any food, I return to my room.
If there isn't any food in the house for an extended period of time, I tend to walk back and forth between the kitchen and my room looking for food in places I've already checked. Because I never think about eating, I tend to be a little zombie-like about it xD

Uh, I'm fairly sure the Brits have a reputation of having really bad taste in food all over the world (USA notwithstanding)!

There is no routine in our house.

Me and the wife take turns in cooking and it's whatever we grab hold of first that gets cooked up.

She's a nurse so works crappy long hours and I work from home (easy life).

We just eat around her hours really.
