For the first time in my small town Sylvester and when i say small i mean you can't generator any search results for it on Google. The Domino's one of two pizza places we have was held at gun point for the cash in the register. It made me wonder how bad the recession had got. So my question is How bad do you think recession is and how bad do you think it will get?

Ah white suburbia, we have none of your foolish problems like economic rescission. Okay so that's only partially true, my mom works for a non-for-profit organization so she's incredibly worried she could lose her job, however my dad doesn't have a care in the world as he worked for one of the only insurance companies that didn't sell insurance on stock.

It will get worse, much worse before it gets better. Like the flu.

In Ireland, all health care (in hospitals) education (minus the cost of books and a small 100 euro entrance fee) and water is free.

The recession will soon put an end to this, and none of us can pay for our children to go to school because we haven't saved for it, pay for health care becuse no one can plan when we're going to get sick or injured, and paying for water is just plain wrong.

It's pretty bad here, but I hope it will get better soon. For all our sakes.

Damn you Brian Cowen (Irish Prime Minister)

Suburbs aren't the same as small towns, unless they fall on the outskirts of large cities, feature large developed tracts of identical houses and are populated by fashion zombies.

My military contract was up in may of this year.

I wanted to get out, go to college with the new $80,000 tuition that just got legislated, but given my lack of advanced IT training to put me ahead of the flood of newbie ITs, I just reenlisted for 3 more years to get as much as I can out of it before I go.

Oh, and they pay me $16,000 for it after taxes, too. That's always fun.

So, more shitty government work on aircraft carriers, but more job-security and free/compensated training for IT certifications and college.

Edit: and my Jew-sense tells me that reenlisting now is a great idea BECAUSE of the recession, and because it will get worse. After March 10th coming up, the reenlistment bonus for my job goes down to ~$5,000, and the bottom of the barrel IT's are straight up not allowed to reenlist at all.

Storms a-brewin'. Get your umbrellas ready.

Racist.
I second this. It's also stereotypical, bigoted, retarded and just generally inaccurate.

Luckily Ive got a government job working for the home office so Ill probably get a pay freeze but my job is as secure as it can be.

Talk of pay freezes pisses me off as my pay raises through the good years have been below the rate of inflation to try and "keep inflation down". Now the government is on about freezing my rises because the private sector is. So they kept me behind and Ill never catch up. Gordon Brown is a douche bag. He saved nothing as chancellor during the good times and now blames world events for having nothing in the kittie. Hes as irrisponsible as the banks.

If hed established a sovereign wealth fund like some other countries wed be in a much stronger position instead of getting in record levels of debt.

On the plus side my mortgage is resonable and getting cheaper and food and petrol are coming down. As long as you dont need credit and you still have a job it wont be so bad.

The recession has actually benefited me.. I've never had as much money as now..
Paycheck is still the same as ever, but the loan interest rates are very low..

So personally for me recession gets a thumb up..

I fail to see the racism, have I missed something here?

Anyway, the recession doesn't have that big an effect on crime, or at least not that big that quickly. The Pizza place was just unlucky, everywhere gets robbed (or attempted) sooner or later, it's just a matter of how seriously.

I also fail to see where he pointed out a spcific race or nationality, but that would be nationalism.

Edit: I also know rich people who steal for the hell of it, just for the thrill, and they like it

that is another point i missed, some places are unlucky enough to get robbed, some more then once and some places never get touched

Right.

I was being facetious, and I'm surprised at how it took off.

He has a point. There are those that are culturally more prone to theft.

It's a consistent, observed fact.
