"You don't have to stay up, elf." He grabbed a hunk of ogre by the bone and started to toast it on the flames, staring at them for some time. "I'll wake you if there's any sign of trouble."
"Myself? I don't sleep much, I fear." The nightmares sure as oblivion take care of that. "I'd just as a soon watch as well."

"Feel free to have some ogre" Urgal said gesturing to the greyish lump sat between them. "Not that it's mine to offer. Been a long while since I've seen combat, but I couldn't help but let the lizard handle it. It was pure craziness to watch."

Suppose I'd better make small talk, we're going to be walking and battling alongside each other for some time yet "So you favour sword eh? I thought your kind preferred to throw fireballs from afar huh?" joked Urgal.

"Er, I think I'll pass. Ogre is a bit stringy for my tastes. I have some perfectly serviceable rabbit, if you'd prefer?" Lloden gestured at the spit he had turning over the fire. They were nearly done. "Hardly! The sword's mostly ornamental. I'm an archer by trade. No taste for the sneaky sort of archery though. You're a beserker, at a guess? At least, you're outfitted like most of the ones I've known."

"I like to imagine my style involves a little more style and dexterity than those of a "beserker" but yeah, I guess that fits. Certainly not a mage, assassin, thief, or archer like half this camp anyway."

"Not that there's anything wrong with archery, my brother was one in fact. Or is one, even." an awkward silence followed, which Urgal tried to fill unsuccessfully by eating the entire rest of his ogre thigh.

"You're not certain, then? And you're right, there is an inordinate number of mages and rogues in this little fellowship. But I am thinking all of us can hold our own in a straight fight, anyways."
Lloden stood and carefully removed the rabbits from the spit, putting two away in the bag, and tearing a leg off the other.

Luna looked for someplace around the camp for one of the leaders. She found Enthir and approached him. "I'll stand watch as well. But i want to speak to you away from the others. I want to know what you know about me..." she said.

"I hope so. Although I have an inkling that we'll need everyone we can get later on. This doesn't smell like a normal escort job. We have no idea where we're going, we have no idea about the package, and we don't know who this Joncis is. I don't know what to expect, but I do know that something's up."

A silence.

"Though a job is a job. Gets me out of the Imperial city and puts gold into my pocket, so I'm not complaining. I'd just like to know who is going to try and intercept us before they do, which they will, I don't like all this cloak and dagger stuff."

Anruin skulked outside of a bandit camp he found about 2 clicks from where they set up camp.

"Alright, 3 bandits. Lets get to work." he mutters.

He sneaks up on one going for a leak, and cuts his head off before he realizes what's happening. He then climbs the tree and pulls out his bow, and snipes the other two around the fire.

"Damn it, one is still alive. Losing my edge. Pierced his lung at least" He says walking up to him. Before he could speak, Anruin stabs him in the head.

And now for the real work. I have a definite daedra worshipper, and a strong one at that, and a possible vampire.' He gets one of the bandits blankets and starts making smoke signals to get some of his friends from Skingrad to get ready, and starts walking back to the camp. "Hope they get the message, and that my group still think I'm sleeping" he mutters.

"It's definitely fishy. Courier job without knowing what we're delivering? Reminds me of Sadrith Mora. I don't think Joncis is too bad a guy, though. Although I'll trust him about as far as I can throw him. Not a fan of mages in general. Too hard to pin down. Can't argue with the results, though, I guess." Lloden said, happily munching on his rabbit. He noted that Urgal had dodged the question, but decided not to press the point.

"I agree, whatever happened to an honest fight. What kind of a warrior turns themselves invisible, or hides behind a summoned daedra, or tries to trick your mind into not being able to distinguish friend from foe, or simply just stands there healing each little injury you inflict, putting you back to square 1."

Urgal saw the sun beginning to rise.

"Well it's been good talking, but I'd better rest up. I'll need my wits about me come dawn. One of the others can take over the watch."

"Exactly. It's quite a pain. Huh. Wasn't Anruin supposed to stay and keep watch?" Lloden said, looking around. "Come to think of it, I haven't seen him in hours. Suspicious. Anyways, good night."

Anruin managed to make it back to the camp and in his own tent without detection or fighs with wildlife. He started praying to Stendarr for mercy on those bandits, and went to bed.

Idreon had spent the night simply sitting, watching, and listening. He'd managed to in one night of removed observation, determine some measure of strength in a few of his co workers, as well as get a better idea of their personalities through opinions during conversation.

True, he had at times wished to leap down and chastise them for questioning the escort job and chew them out for their lack of professionalism, but he always reminded himself that not everyone was shadowscale, and many lacked the blessing of the teachings he had grown up with.

Still, His eyes had fed him several nuggets of information from his perch near the top of the tree. He could make out the torches of the recently instated night patrol guards along the roads, as well as those of a few late hour travelers. A strong cross breeze had alerted him to the smell of smoke other than that belonging to the camp he watched over, and he easily spotted the smoke signals in the distance with the aid of the moonlight and clear sky.... Damned if he knew what it was saying though.

" Probably bandits reporting a haul to a boss or something." He crept down the branches silently, taking stock of who was at camp and doing what, and satisfied, Idreon crept back up into the tree and let himself drift into another of his short naps, none lasting much longer than 40 minutes at most, but upon each awakening, he simply reassessed things and quickly dozed back off. Such was his sleep pattern, and he followed it, his observations having taken place between these bouts of slumber throughout the night.

He wouldn't be the freshest come time to break camp, but he certainly wouldn't be sluggish either.

Astoph looks up again at the signal fire over the forestry
"So no one else notices that?"
He pointed out the to ones outside the tent
He had seen the elf returning from, god knows, but he had his own suspicions

Enthir looked up at her, still wiping the sleep from his eyes''So you want me to follow you alone through a dimly lit forest with no one around and explain why you should kill me? Not likely'' Enthir sighed ''Now you're probably wondering why you were recruited in the first place, you see the truth is any Blade with low level access to criminal records knows about you, it's just with war breaking out any day now no one's set out to hunt you down, I figured that if you joined us you could start somewhere fresh, I mean, if the Blades don't get you the Morang Tong will, I think one of you're parents had ties to them because several of them have been tracking down the killer, a certain Dunmer vampire who's been taking odd jobs around Cyrodiil'' Enthir lay back down next to the dwindling fire ''So if you don't want to get assassinated or arrested, you'll come along with us, I could get the Morang Tong off your back too if I pulled some strings''
''You're part of the Morang Tong, really?'' Luna responded condescendingly
''Luna, anyone who hasn't a death wish has some tie to them, it ensures you aren't mysteriously killed while you're in a position of power, I'm a Blade, that means a lot of people could want me dead for a variety of reasons''

Joncis looked up and saw the smoke, and Anruin return from his 'walk'
''Hey, Astoph?'' Joncis grabbed his attention, ''what do you say we ask Anruin a few questions about that smoke?''

"It could be anything. Jumping to accusing allies would be a touch hasty." Although his disappearance was rather suspicious.

"If you two are so curious, go check it out yourselves" Anruin said, with mock sleepiness, confident that his covering his own tracks was thorough enough.

''Yeah, nice try, I thought starting forest fires was against your race's culture, what was it the Green Pact?'' Joncis conjured a Flame Atronach with one hand and a bow and arrows with the other, ''Go, scout ahead to the smoke'', the Atronach nodded and glided in the direction of the smoke, ''and don't try that sleepy-tired crap, the sun has risen now and if you were really that tired you wouldn't have been walking around outside the camp in the opposite direction of where we are going , Skingrad is that way,'' Joncis points in the direction where one could easily see the buildings of the city. ''and there's only 2 reasons I think you would start that fire, either you REALLY hate the cyrodiilic wildlife or you are keen to attract some unwanted attention''.

"And the possibility that it wasn't me, but bandits never crossed your mind? Besides, I only left to get something that wasn't rabbit or ogre to eat, I'm a vegetarian." As he said the last part of the sentence he pulled out some berries he yanked of a tree halfway back.
