I was a bit scared reading this, but apparently Bethesda isn't making this. Phew. Now I can continue hoping they're busy making Fallout 4.

Black marsh is more deadly to imperials than Skyrim to khajiit.
That is why there was an entire race of man that flourished in Black Marsh for ages..... because it is so deadly to man.

So there is hope after all I guess.

No offense if you enjoy Bethesda games... but I find them to be steaming piles of boring.

First off, gameinformer are doing a cover story on it in their next issue, so here's their page:
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2012/05/03/june-cover-revealed-the-elder-scrolls-online.aspx

Now, few thing to note:

*It's not being made by the same team who worked on Skyrim.

*It's 1000 years before Skyrim

*Story focuses around the "daedric prince Molag Bal (as he) tries to pull all of Tamriel into his demonic realm". Link to his lore page on the wiki:http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Molag_Bal

*The director of the game worked with Mythic before and directed Dark Age of Camelot. (Metacritic score: 88... user score 95).

*Now, I see it mentioned that it takes place in the province of Cyrodill. Some folk won't like that I'm sure. But this might be a mistake on the author of the articles part.

*3 separate factions are there for the choosing.

*It's open world... though I'm not sure if that excludes it from the hub system of every other MMO.

Anyway, that's all there is to it. More info later I guess.
What's the general opinion on this?
only cyrodil?
That's enough to say no to it

Edit : The elder scrolls mmo taking place only in cyrodil is like World of warcraft only taking place in the blood elf starting zone (there's 2 provinces dedicated to them for it)

Don't take my word for it, I've heard other sources say it's all of Tamriel. Time will tell.

You know, I could actually dig this. I've been meaning to try an MMO for awhile, but I simply cannot stand the WoW-like art styles they use. But an MMO with Skyrim's art style would be something I'd be willing to try.

It has a really generic cartoony look.

Apparently the game has(spoilered due to length)

-Three factions
--Ebonheart pact: Nords, Dunmer, Argoanion
--Aldmeri dominion: Altmer, Bosmer, Khajiit
--Daggerfall Covenant: Orcs, Redguards, Bretons

-the Imperials are "badguys" work with the Tharn family and Manimmarco. Manimmaro is selling everyone out to Molag ball.

-120 hours to reach level cap

-The game has a hubless quest system

-Werewolf plauge

-Your Character has had his soul taken by Molag ball, which is why you can come back to life if you "die"

-They take some of Gw2 mechanics were your weapons determine some of your skills, there is also doddging, skill combos, and other GW2isy things.

-Enemies can also do combos with eachother, and have all the blocking/parrying/dodging skills you can use.

-Fully voiced NPCs

-A radiant AI system

-Mundus stones that work in the same way as guardian stones in Skyrim

-Crafting, alchemy, and soul gems are in the game

-Mounts

-Wayshrine fast travel

-Dont expect to get a litany of overpowered Daedric artifacts

-Can join guilds

-Helping guilds unlocks skills

-Cyrodiil is a giant three way PVP zone

-Can become emperor

-Cannot become Vampire/Werwowlf, No player housing, no Player/NPC romance

Scans from the issue just in case no one knows yet.

To be honest? Do not want. Elder Scrolls has always been about making a single player experience and going from that to MMO just doesn't seem good at all.

On the Bethesda forums posting magazine scans can get you banned, I don't know how it's over here.

you dont post direct links to scans, that only gets them taken down earlier, and often results in bans on forums.

One half of me is very interested in a TES MMO, the other half of me looks at all the awful failed, failing and dead MMOs released over the last five years and doesn't expect much from the game.

I also hope it wont be a free to play grindfest, almost every F2P MMO is rubbish. The fact any scrub can download the client and play doesn't help either, all multiplayer games attract undesirables but MMOs seem to bear the brunt of it. When a game is F2P it removes all the barriers of entry and financial consequences of getting banned, the twats can just open a new account for free.

Still a TES MMO with PvP is definitely exciting, at least to me. Having all that open world freedom and meaningful conflict over resources or access to areas would be a dream for me, no fantasy MMO has done that since Ultima Online.
