Elfen Lied...

So I just started watching Elfen Lied. I have been told good things about it and its looked rather interesting (IIt looked awesomely gory!). Well the first episode deserved a "wtf!?", but I thought it was pritty good! I have just watched the second episode and I'm starting to like it. Theres a little bit of nudity in it though, which I wasn't sure about until the end of episode 2, cause that was pritty funny

But what I wanna know is;

have you watched it?

Is it any good?

Do you think the gore and nudity is necessary?

And I also already love Nyuu... had to be said

I have never seen it but people's reccomendations are always taken with respect. I could use some time watching a new anime.

Can't say much about the anime, but the manga was awesome! There, we had interesting characters a plotline with so many twists and turns it looked like a roller-coaster. But some of the nudity is a bit excessive. The gore is quite appropriate, though.

Oh hell yes it's good. Best character developement and nice pacing. However, I was disappointed how the anime ended so differently from the manga.

I don't mind the gore or nudity at all.

Favorite character is Mayu, followed by Nana.

The gore and nudity are kind of the point, so just expect more of the same. IF you liked this, you may enjoy Mnemosyne.

I read the manga and I liked it. The drawings were pretty lame at the beginning, it got a bit better later on, but the story drags way too much halfway through.

Oh by the way, the anime ends in the middle of the manga, so they have different endings.

In this case though I recommend the anime over the manga since the anime has a better art style and pacing. The story is pretty sad though.

but anyway I hated the manga it took everything I liked about the show and brutally murdered it you know IMO...

I had it suggested to me by a friend. I watched the entire thing almost at once and have to say that I enjoyed it quite a bit. Maybe not one of the best anime I have seen ever, but certainly one I would recommend to others.

I'm halfway on it. I liked the backstories and the characterization but some characters, like Nyuu or the main characters cousin were just awful.
So it's a mixed bag for me, because it does a lot right, but a lot so very wrong...

I saw the first three episodes out of a request, It was an ok show, nothing special just violent :{}

Wonderful show, I find. I have no issues with either the nudity or gore levels, finding both to be appropriate to the humor and level of the show. The concept was good enough, the story twisty enough, and the atmosphere appropriately dark enough to really make it shine.

I enjoyed watching it, but it was a while ago, and I think I forget the more... Japanese Nyuu bits. Definitely not one of the worst, more adult in its aims than most, plot developed n all that jazz. Enjoy!
