They were pretty serious about snackifying.

Dr. Pepper's 23 flavors are now a bit more questionable.
(I'm aware it's not a Pepsi product)

I feel like Fluttershy at the beginning of the dragon episode. Why is no one listening to me? At least the OP noticed, for whatever good it's doing.

[HEADING=1]The article does not say that Pepsi includes embryonic cells or any chemical derived from embryonic cells. What it says is that PepsiCo is partnered with a biotech firm that uses embryonic cells to create human taste receptors. Those receptors are connected to a computer and used for objective taste testing.[/HEADING]

Don't worry about it; plenty of people misread the article. The way I see it, part of being smart is realizing that you will sometimes make mistakes and being willing to acknowledge it when it happens. And don't take the angry red font as an attack on you. It's everyone else I'm frustrated with.

Edit: Dammit, I just realized that I should have said I felt like a reverse Soylent Green guy. "Pepsi isn't people! It isn't people!"

"Redheaded child"? I'm not familiar with that phrase. Do you know it's origin?

Read the gorram link, people. The cells are not an ingredient, they are used to build taste receptors that are in turn used to evaluate the taste of the drinks. Again. There is no dead baby in the drink. The dead baby is in the testing apparatus.

EDIT: Damn, ninja'd. With big red text even. That hurts.

"'Using isolated human taste receptors we created proprietary taste receptor-based assay systems that provide a biochemical or electronic readout when a flavor ingredient interacts with the receptor...'"

I think that's pretty damn cool. I can support nifty science AND go against a "pro-life" boycott? Hell, I'm buying MORE Pepsi.

This is like saying cola contains glass because they used glass test tubes in the testing phase. And over half of the people in this topic think pepsi actually has stem cells IN THE DRINK. God damn people can be dumb.

They don't have embryotic cells in the food, they use cells to research the stuff they're going to put in the food.

Who the hell cares?

QFT, if people don't bother reading they might believe they are drinking aborted fetuses, that every time they pop open a Pepsi the escaping gas and fizz is the horrified soul of a fetus.

What is wrong with using human embryonic kidney cells to study human taste in order to create better flavors in a good soft drink?

We eat more horrifying things every day. Eggs? Aborted bird fetuses. Cheese? Old milk soured by bacteria. Milk itself? Titty juice from a mammal whose farts significantly contribute to global warming.

Also, the ethics surrounding other nicer foods we eat today don't sound too good. Coffee? Slave plantations. Chocolate? War and child labor. Bananas?...

Ah, the refreshing taste of the souls of the damned. Pepsi: every self-respecting necromancer is drinking it.

They're not in the pepsi, they were used to test the taste receptors reactions to the pepsi. I was gonna say, I'd think using fetus would be a lot less cost effective than say, sugar.

You find ox semen in redbull, you can't get any lower.
Nope, you don't. Taurine is a byproduct of the Washing detergent industry, is produced industrially and 100% vegan.

As for Pepsi: I was highly sceptical when I read the words "pro-life"...
So they use waste tissue for GREAT SCIENCE. What's the deal? Is it better if they do animal testing? I certainly don't agree with a lot that the pharma industry does, and I don't see the need for this research (and again, it is research they do, NOT production), there are way worse things going on in the pharma branch alone. Or in the food sector. I certainly prefer this to calling hitmen on unionists like Coca-Cola does, or using Gelatine to filter drinks, which, again, is a thing Coca-Cola does, along with others, since it is industry standard. (For some reason Pepsi doesn't. Don't wanna support Pepsi either... Still unhealthy crap.)

Gonna say, all that stuff about taurine being Bull Sperm is just an urban myth, tbh I think this embryo thing is as well.
It isn't even that. Everyone is just misreading the article. I'm too tired to type it again, so just read my earlier post. Look for the giant red font.
