Persona 4, although I think it may just be because I went ahead and finished 3 first, and 3's ending was depressing.

My favorite video game ending has to be Mafia, and in fact the whole story was awesome and had excellent voice acting.
Can't wait for Mafia 2.

It's probably cliched by now but Death Note's ending was for me epic.
Sure the last minute Giovanni-snake intrussion to the plot was kinda out of placed but hey, what I most liked about this ending is that it gives you a concrete and solid winner from both sides. I know I'm depending too much on the plot development to say so but, well, the ending is part of the plot after all.

Sword to the Forehead... FUCK YEAH!
It was really satisfying but well, in my opinion ocarina of time was much more epic, I guess is for the cartoony part (no hard feelings). You do get the stab on the forehead too.

Mass Effect.

And of older games, Star Control 2 and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge.

Star Control 2 ended up with the galaxy pretty much saved with a slightly unusual solution, even though you have to f*** certain species up the Gluteus Maximus even if they are not hostile or even belligerent. One of them was even in fact part of the good guys...

One of the best written story and dialogues I've seen, even if it was supposed to be a space puzzle-solving/tactical combat game.

I'll go with the ending of 'Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones'. That short monologue neatly encapsulates everything the trilogy is about and gives the impression that the entire length of the three games we played was one epic story right out of the Arabian Nights. Just perfect.

Metal Gear Solid 4, sure the ending is LONG AS HELL! But it does manage to wrap up all of the unanswered questions that came from the other games, and after so many plot twists (good and bad) I have to salute it.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SHOC

There were 7.
the two 'real' endings were excellent. The 5 "false" endings were interesting, but didn't really "end" properly. Ended your character tho.
Which is interesting, because S.T.A.L.K.E.R. CS has a terrible ending.
Don't tell me, I haven't had the time to finish the Red Forest portion
Bleh... I hate the Red Forest. It was fine in the first game, why does it have to suck so hard in the second?
Really? I liked Red Forest in the second game more than the first.

Unfortunately, the game is about to take a dip in quality. Which is a shame, because I thought it was pretty good up until Limask.

It looks like a forest, and the map pretends that it's a forest, but it is really just as linear due to unclimbable hills replacing barbed wire. to ensure that there are fixed paths

It pretends to be something different when it really isn't (an open forest), and it makes using the map to find the quickest way to get anywhere difficult.

It is a good game, but for some reason the Faction Warfare portion is a bit broken. I have conquered all Freedom territories in the name of Duty, but they keep spawning at their base.
Wasn't the Red Forest in the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R just as linear due to intense radiation?

And yeah, the faction warfare is broken. I tried to conquer the zone with my bandit buddies, but no matter how many times I kicked the Stalker's out of their home base, no bandits would ever come to secure the fucking thing. They would say they were coming but they always seemed to be distracted by something. I ended up running out of ammo fighting off the constantl reinforcements.

Yeah, completely agree with you there. He got what he deserved.

Agreed, I was expecting....something much different to happen.

Also I liked the ending of District 9, the movie was so well done that I'm alright with a sequel for it.
Actually, I was just happy that they ended right at the peak of the action. Instead of filling the last 20 minutes or so with useless information that no one cares about (like most movies do), this movie managed to bring it to a close right at the climax. Just perfect.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time had a really GREAT ending which in a way could prevent any kinds of sequel. Unfortunately it did not prevent Ubisoft from creating a trilogy though and the monstrously bad ending of the latest Prince of Persia.

Shawsank's Redemption also had a great ending.

I didn't have too much of a problem with the radiation, seeing as how you could just spam medpacks (which I had far too many of) to stay alive if you had to (oddly that strategy works for when you are inside the NPP)

My primary weapon is a Vintar, and it uses ammo that Duty sells IIRC (been a while) so I havent ever had ammo problems (helped that the vintar became common as dirt on the ground as soon as I found one), but I have the same problem with Duty not capturing the road between Argroprom and the Garbage.
I thought the same thing about my weapon not running out of ammo (I had thousands of ammo boxes), but after fighting off a ridiculous number of Stalker reinforcements without a single bandit attempting to capture the base, I managed to waste all of my ammo.

Assassin's Creed! :)

Actually, I don't mind cliffhangers so I didn't think it sucked.

Although if you want something to agree with, Mass Effect. Like somebody before said, it offers epic closure and leaves it open for a sequel.

The Bard's Tale: It had the perfect ending for the kind of game it was. They didn't change the Bard's personality to have some epic battle between good and evil, they just let the Bard be the Bard

Romeo and Juliet: The two (three if you count Paris) biggest idiots in the story die. And boy howdy they deserved it.

Wrestlemania 20 (the actual Pay-Per-View): Until 2007, that was the greatest match I had ever seen, and it made me proud of the entire WWE. Then Chris Benoit ruined my favorite memory of Pro-Wrestling forever.

The Captain Falcon Anime Show: I have no idea about the show, I just know it ended with THE MOTHER OF ALL FALCON PUNCHES.

Godzilla: Final Wars: One of the most epic monster battles ever.

And if it counts, The Spoony One's ending to his Final Fantasy 8 review/let's play.

Endings to a book/movie/game that didn't suck?....well every ending of every bad book/movie/game can't realy suck can it? It might not be a good ending but since the end is...well...the end of the bad book/movie/game it ain't all that bad ain't it
