Maybe if Ubisoft stopped making shoddy and broken ports of console games they would sell more and people wouldn't pirate the titles so much.

How strange you seemed to ignore the rest of my post. I never stated I stole their games. I stated the grounds for people not BUYING their games.

I add these companies to my list only when they do retarded shit. It is effectively a boycott, however if there is a game I really, really, really want, I will pirate it if it hasn't been put into the bargain bin already

Pirating games = sneaking into a movie theater.

Even if the movie is bad, you still snuck in the back when others had to pay.

Its still cheating, and it reduces the incentive for the products you like to be made.

Because you're saying you're "boycotting" a company... but if it's a game you reaaaallllyyy want, you'll pirate it. You're not boycotting anything, you're just pirating games you refuse to pay retail for.

If you really want to boycott a company, don't go to their site, don't play their games, and don't support anything that the company advertises on.

For example.... I don't like EA's invasive DRM for "Spore". So guess what: I'm not buying it, not playing it. Even a cracked version. I'd still really like to play it, but until the release a version where I don't need the DRM, I won't install it.

And you know what? If you don't like their "shitty" games... NO ONE is forcing you to buy it, right? So why does YOUR opinion that it is "shitty" make it OK for you to steal?

Another example- I just dropped $1200 on the Adobe CS3 suite. Now, why did I do that if I could have EASILY downloaded it? Because it's fair. I can easily make that money off a job I did WITH the software, and it's only fair that I compensate THEM for making that possible.

If you have to justify to yourself that something is OK to do, it probably isn't Ok to do in the first place.
