I only play internet flash games and the occasional freeware so my references are obscure but definitely the baron from sonny and sonny 2, especially sonny 2. he's just so powerful you feel you're never going to win and keeping yourself alive is a struggle, let alone hurting him... also from the freeware game cave story, which all of you should play (be sure to find an english patch), pretty much all of the bosses are memorable but the most striking would be misery, ballos, monster X, and maybe balfrog. shoot the other games with memorable enemies are slipping my mind... hmmm

Those mother fucking skull fuckers from Digital Devil Saga (and by association any SMT game they're in, but my paranoia started in DDS) I guess I'll start this one with a story. The skulls are...well skulls. They have low HP and are easy to kill. Until they get a surprise attack, cast instant death spells and kill your whole team in one turn. Now no skull gets away un-consumed. Also fucking cerberus breeders in God of War. Fuck those fucks. Oh it's just a big dog, I'll kill it fast. Suddenly puppies, everywhere. Then suddenly they grow and you're raped to death by dogs. HOW FUN WAS THAT FUCKER? I now petrify any cerberus to death.

Oh my god I forgot all about those cerberus things... there's always a particular part of that game, hell if I can remember which, but you're on a large dais encircled by columns, and it's just dog after dog.

Mass Effect: Husks. i hate hate HATE them. just when i think my shogun has it... it takes a hard left and ruins my shot. and then they explode. thorian creepers too cause they dodge and then they puke on you... gross.

Fallout 3: Ghouls. especially the broken steel ones that show up constantly after level 19. also the albino radscorpions, the fire-breathing giant ants, and deathclaws. i do not enjoy the times i encounter any of those things.

Red Dead Redemption: cougars. well here i am finished skinning my last buffalo. now to mount my fastest horse in the game and... horse falls over dead. DAMNIT COUGAR! bears too because they tend to show up every time i try to skin the one i killed. make me feel uneasy for the next half hour.

Oblivion: zombies. they are just fricken CREEPY.

Final Fantasy XI: Goblins. i cannot COUNT how much exp i lost to bomb toss. extreme terror grips all who accidentally pulled goblins.

For the most part I play around with most enemies but when i first encounter something tough it becomes a "Shit just got real!" moment.

The MJ12 Commandos from Deus Ex, as well as the MIBs from the same title. Also, the Heavies from Darkest of Days, simply because they have very powerful chainguns that actually does sounds the part (check for the GAU-8 test firing clips on youtube).

The sound effects and the sound from the video are nearly the same. I respect those enemies by the virtue that they sound the part of terror weapons.

While easy to kill, they've screwed me over a number of times by instantly depleting my shield so husks can swarm me. Hate those guys.

Agreed on the dragons. Way to easy, even on nightmare. (Ive also seen people soloing the high dragon on nightmare. Apparently it took hours though.

OT: the Zombies in LoZ:OoT they scared me into stop playing the game as a child...

From Fable 1 and 2. Theyre just so fast and when they're in the dark it's so hard to see them. The first time I encoutered them it actually scared me. And the Howling Halls.. ugh. Once you get farther in the game you can kill them pretty easily with a quick headshot but i'm still careful around them.

I agree with the re-deads, mine is the poison headcrab for HL2, those things are not only creepy, but can take you down to 1hp so some pesky fast headcrab can finish you off!
