Price-4 Energy Drinks are so crazy expensive already these days so I would try and find one of the cheaper ones so I don't lose 5 bucks on a single drink.

Brand-2 Don't really care too much about the brand, maybe those 5 hour energys because they seem to have a lot of buzz for them.

Package-1 I have no care for what it comes in.

Ingredients-4 I wouldn't want to get something that is just completely caffeine or just all sugar. I would look for some more natural stuff.

Taste-2 Not really going for taste because I would want it to wake up.

FYI. This isn't my personal, it would be for me buying it for a friend.

Price: 4. I always want the biggest bang for my bucks.

Brand: 2. My brand loyalty isn't very stong but if i know a brand is good then i'm likely to but it again.

Package: 4. If i can buy bigger cans or several at once for a cheaper price i see that as a good deal.

Ingredients: 1. Considering how literally everything has some kind of perservative/chemical/taste chemical in it i can't even be bothered. Pump me full of toxins if that means i get my drinks.

Taste: 3. If it tastes awful i won't drink it but generally they all taste roughly the same.

How much of a "kick" they have is definitely the factor i care the most about. You should have included that in the survey.

1. Price - 4 I want it cheap, but it also has to be safe and tasty.
2. Brand - 2 The only time I take notice of brand is when it's terrible and I now know to avoid them.
3. Package - 2 As long as I can see it on the shelf I don't care if it's a plain can.
4. Ingredients - 2 As long as it's not poison I'm fine, I usually prefer caffeine and sugar since the reason I drink an energy drink is to get that spastic twitch.
5. Taste - 5 If it tastes bad I won't drink it.

Back when I drank the stuff:

1. Price - 2, It wasn't completely ignored but would only really come into play if it was a huge difference in price.

2. Brand - 1, not important by itself, however brand can dictate taste below.

3. Package* - 4, when I drank it I usually wanted a lot since it was fulfilling two purposes, quenching my thirst and giving me energy.

4. Ingredients - 1, I didn't really care what was in anything I used to eat or drink. I'm not a health nut now but I do pay attention to certain things.

5. Taste - 5, What can I say, if I am going to consume something it better taste good.

Price -4
Brand -2
Package -3
Ingredients -1
Taste -5

I don't really care what's in the thing, as long as it tastes good and is cheap enough for me to justify myself buying it. The package gets some importance, as I collect cans/bottles.

1. Price - 2 - I dont spend more that $5.00
2. Brand - 3 - I like Nos and Monster
3. Package* - 4 - I prefer the resealable lids but they only come on the big can and there is just too much in the can then. So i get the normal size.
4. Ingredients - 5 - Bear Seamen
5. Taste - 1 - I only brink the ones that are juced, and most of them are orange flavored, so i guess orange. I also like the coffee energy drinks.

Disclaimer I dont drink Energy drinks any on account of the last time i had one i almost threw up, that was about 1.5 years ago. But Before that I drank them all the time. And i sometimes drink the coffee ones, but i still prefer straight coffee. I hope that helps.

Hey guys,

can you help me out. I need to do a marketing research for class and I need to interview about 30 people , so it would really help me out if you participate. It's a simple survey really.

What affects your decision when you're buying an energy drink.(Doesn't matter if you really like the stuff or not.Imagine that a friend asked you to buy him one and you have to decide what it is).
Mark each of the following criteria from 1 to 5 depending on how important it is for you , with 1 being not important at all and 5 being very important.

1. Price -
2. Brand -
3. Package* -
4. Ingredients -
5. Taste -

Thank you in advance.

*Can,bottle, how good does it look ect.
alright I'll help
Price- 3 I'm not gonna spend a lot of money for a short burst of energy then a crash
Brand- 4 not gonna lie only one really buy is monster rehab
Package- 2 don't really care how it looks may look nice but that does nothing except get a quick look
Ingredients-3 As long as isn't just sugar and caffine we're good
Taste- 5 again only thing I buy is monster rehab because it tastes good and doesn't make me hyper

Price: 4. I really don't like spending five dollars on one drink, but if it's too cheap, I assume it's crap.

Brand: 2. I only really drink Red Bull, but I have no problem with other brands if they look good.

Package: 1. I don't care.

Ingredients: 3. I try to get sugar free and I also try to stay away from energy drinks with a health warning on them.

Taste: 4. I can't stand anything too sweet.

Hope that helps!

1. Price - 2 to 2.5 There are a few energy drinks I will drop a couple extra bucks on, like Spike Shooter and Rockstar Punched, but those I'll only buy because I've had and enjoyed them.

2. Brand - 1 - 1.5. I don't have much brand loyalty.

3. Package* - Depends. The only thing about the packaging that would affect whether I purchase an energy drink would be if it had a resealable top.

4. Ingredients - 4. I want to get the most caffeine for my buck. Example: a can of Red Bull is 1.50-1.99 around where I live, and it has 80mg of caffeine in an 8oz can. A can of Spike Shooter cost 3.49-3.99 for an 8oz can, but it has 300mg of caffeine.

5. Taste - 2. If a highly caffeinated energy drink tasted bad, I can just mix it into soda to dilute the flavor. That said, I don't want something that tastes like artificial sweetening and piss.

1. Price - 3 (above $3? go fuck yourself)
2. Brand - 1 (I spread the love to every drank out there)
3. Package* - 3 (I gotta look fly when i drank)
4. Ingredients - 5 (sucralose? high fructose corn syrup? yea, go fuck yourself)
5. Taste - 4 (red bull is the nastiest I will go)

That being said, here's the breakdown:
Monster > Rockstar > Venom > NOS > Red Bull > AMP > Full Throttle and all those other bro-as-fuck drinks that have high fructose corn syrup

EDIT: Oh, and it has to be in 16oz (or higher) CANS or I won't drink it (although Venom is my exception because its aluminum).

These yellow rockstar cans smell like they might kill me

My favourite ''energy'' drink is Spike Shooter, it tastes like punch. Too bad they don't make a version with less caffeine.

Just plain strong coffee with lots of sugar, why would someone prefer something canned made of hell knows what, I have no idea...

Cheyenne: My mother used to make it this way. Hot, strong, and good. (Once Upon a Time In the West)

1. Price - 3...Care somewhat since most cost around the same. If ones cheaper I may give it go simpley for that reason.
2. Brand - 2...Don't generally care other than the fact that some tend to taste better than others.
3. Package* - 1...Don't care at all what the container looks like.
4. Ingredients - 2....I might give a quick look out of curiousity but I really don't pay toouch mind.
5. Taste - 5....very important. If it tastes like ass, I won't buy it agian.

First things first:
I'm addicted to energy drinks, i buy 1.5 litre bottles and consume from 1 litre to 2 litres A DAY.
It started when i was working as a chef for 10 years (10-12 hours a day).
I don't know why i even buy them anymore, i'm mostly immune to coffein by now.

1. Price - 4, important, but not THE most important criteria
2. Brand - 1 absolutly unimportant, i'm not a "brand-whore"
3. Package* - 1 I'm interested on the stuff INSIDE not the outside
4. Ingredients - 2 I don't know about you there in the states, but here in germany, ALL energydrinks have the same ingredients, 30mg of coffein per 100ml, so this isn't a issue
5. Taste - 5 the most important thing, even i don't drink them pure, i mix them allways with other things like limejuice or cherryjuice. Thats the reason why i'm stuck with one particuallary brand right now, this energydrink tastes like a cherrylemonade and is really cheap, F###ing awesome !!!

BTW, i heared in the US the food industry is not as much regulated like here in the EU, how much coffein is in your energydrinks ?
When possible, please in milligram per 100ml

1. Price - 3 - It depends really on my mood and what I'm craving.
2. Brand - 2 - I don't care, as long as it taste alright.
3. Package - 1 - Every energy drink has stupid logos and packaging.
4. Ingredients - 2 - Admittedly, I will usually pick the diet one, but other than that, I don't care what's in it.
5. Taste - 5 - I don't drink Red Bull. Not because it costs 4 dollars or so for 16 oz., but because it's awful.

Price- 3 - I'm not too fussed about the price.
Brand- 1 - Store brand is just as good for me.
Package- 1 - Like I say, brands and logos mean bugger all to me.
Ingredients- 3 - I like to know what I'm consuming and how much.
Taste- 5 - If it tastes like piss, it doesn't pass the lips.
