Gar was unsure as to what to guard. Was he supposed to go to the gates, the barracks or a tower?
I suppose picking up a rifle and doing something atleast 'looks' like I know what I'm supposed to do...

Picking up the rifle, he felt it's full weight in his hands. Not just a hunk of metal, the machine he now held in his hands was a machine of death and destruction. He was holding the life and death, the future and promises of someone right there in his hands. What made him special enough to have that responsibility. To have the final saying in that fatal judgement.

Fuck it, the world is going to hell, might as well do as much good before I succomb to the inevetable

"Sir! Requesting permission to provide additional firing support from the pile of junk over there. I may be able to get a clear shot at some of the intruders over the wall"

Around 30 meters away from Gar was said pile. It was a heap of barrels, waste, used ammunition and empty crates. It was leaning up against the wall right next to the gate and was large enough for someone to jump over the gate. If someone was stupid enough for that was another matter.

What have I gotten myself into here? I am about to fight people I have lived with for nearly all of my life.

Luke started to panic now that the situation started to set in. He was a solider fighting against the mightiest military force in the world, who happened to be very narcissistic.

Just as he was about to start screaming about lost hope, the little person in the back of his head slapped him across the face.

No, they aren't your people anymore. Don't you remember? You cut off ties with them the day that they forced your family to leave the country because your wife is a foreigner. 14th amendment, be damned. Your neighbors hated you for marrying her and having that "filthy" child. They forgot what this country stood for three hundred years ago.

With the voice reminding him about his cause, Luke gripped the automatic weapon in his hands and prepared for anything.

If all goes well... Truth be told, if all went well in Katrina's mind, she wouldn't be in the present situation. Her life, and that of everyone else in the world, would be completely different. This was because of the fact that in Katrina's ideal world, America wouldn't have the need to invade other countries to obtain oil.

But that was nothing but wishful thinking. It could never happen now, she knew that much. Banishing the thoughts from her mind, she steeled her nerves and tightened her grip on her pistol a little more. She breathed a mental sigh of relief at the fact that she hadn't been sent out with the others to investigate the source of the yelling. For all she knew it could be something incredibly dangerous, like a group of people with guns, hopped up on booze or drugs. Katrina figured that if that were the case, she would be in no position to tell them to leave, let alone speak to someone if she couldn't tell that they were friendly or hostile.

"Goddamnit, Gar. Keep it in your damn trousers. If the shit kicks off we'll be out of the front door to provide covering fire.", Emerson snapped, "Everyone just make sure you got a weapon at your side and a strong hate for Americans in your stomach."

Back outside the station...

"Dammit, dad! I don't want to mess around here, let's get these fuckers off our soil.", the youngest of the group moaned, totting his pistol at this side, "C'mon, dad! We can take them!"

"Boy don't you be ordering me about!"

"I can take them though. I know I can."

"Boy, don't you dare! I swear to God, no son of mine--"

Gunfire rung out once more, but this time it was concentrated, controlled bursts. Thomas was the first to fall, with the others instinctively covering their heads and hitting the floor. Michael wasn't quick enough however, a single bullet piercing his abdomen.

Nadia dropped to the floor at the gunfire. She quickly raised her firearm from a prone position and let out a burst into the son's leg, dropping him. She aimed at the men who had yet to fire.

"Now, how about this? If you don't leave, I will personally put a bullet in all of your legs, then take you back to base and torture you for everything you know. Which won't be much."

In the back of her mind, she wondered if she could really still torture, even though they were father and son and that she hadn't interrogated in years.

"You whore!" The father called out after seeing his son drop. He aimed his firearm as well and fired. His emotions caused him to spray the entire ground in front of the welcoming group.

"Katrina, get Michael!" Robin said as he raised himself from the ground. He grabbed Thomas's leg, not sure if he were still alive.

He let his rifle hang from his back and unslung his pistol, firing at the three men that were still standing. Despite being outnumbered they showed the famed American bravado; shooting as much as they could as fast as they could.

Then he saw the lit molotov sail through the air. It moved painstakingly slow through the air. But when it hit the ground Robin had to shield his face from the heat of the flames that suddenly erupted.

He called the retreat.

Hiding in what little cover she had, Katrina stuck her pistol in a pocket and scrambled over to the fallen Michael at Robin's instruction. A stray shot zinged past her head, and she instinctively threw herself flat, freezing up for a few seconds before she began moving again. She reached Michael's prone form and tried to drag him away from the fighting. There was blood everywhere as a result of the bullet wound, and he was coughing heavily; it was a wonder he wasn't crying out from the shock and the pain of getting shot.

"Come on, come on now!" Katrina muttered to herself as she hurried up a little, working to get her wounded teammate out of the immediate vicinity.

Nadia stood up quickly and fired with one hand as she ran over to Michael to assist Katrina. She helped the girl drag Michael away from the fight, giving supressing fire.

"Damn drunkards," she muttered. "C'mon, Michael, you can make it."

Johann threw himself to the ground when the shooting began, a couple of bullets sailing over his head. It reminded him of days gone past when he had served with the military, scenes that he'd tried to forget came flooding back. He raised the Glock and tried to shoot a couple of the attackers but like the target practise earlier he missed all of them.

Even over the American men's shouting he heard the order from Robin to retreat. As he ran back bent over double to avoid being shot, he saw Michael covered in blood and felt sick inside. He prayed to God that he wouldn't end like that too, if only for his children's sake.

J'aime grabbed two mags for the Glock, but as she stood starring at the pistol the gunfire intensified, echoing with intent. In a quick mental debate with herself, she gave a silent scoff and headed towards the gate.

I'll just stick next to one of those gun lovin' twits and give him my ammo. They're better off shootin' it than me anyways.

After she met up made her way to the courtyard, she noticed all the experienced soldiers taking up positions wherever they felt they could get a piece of the action, and the less hardened standing around wondering what they should be doing. This had been the most unorganized unit she had ever seen. She felt like face-palming, but refrained due to the circumstances. Choosing someone to stick with was going to be a far more difficult choice than she had thought.

Gar instinctively sprinted to the gate as soon as he heard the molotov land with a burst of shattered glass and burning gasoline.
Clicking the firing mechanism into single-shot, he knelt down to one knee and concentrated fire on the torso of the father, since he was menacingly bursting out shots, creating a hail of fire on his comrades who had enough on their plates already.

"We need to get everyone inside the gates!"
Gar shouted over the towering smoke and rhythmic sound of guns blazing.

Aiming down his sites once again, he fired three bullets off target, which instead hit one of the unarmed guys who were backtracking away from the fight.
The first bullet penetrated his right arm, right below the shoulder.
The second nicked his right ear, tearing it to pieces as he screamed out in agony.
The third buried itself in his neck, severing the artery and spraying blood everywhere.

He kept firing until his gun stopped working. At the familiar and oh so dreadful 'click' sound, he knew the gun was out of ammo.

"Out of ammo! Anyone got a spare mag?!"
Gar flicked the empty magazine to his side and took cover behind a stack of tires.
When no-one answered his call, he pulled out his glock and kept firing.

Ana dove to the closest cover she could find and fumbled with her gun some. "God dammit it's been a while since I had to be under fire like this." Ana said sighing and then started shooting. She brushed her auburn hair out of her face aiming at whatever none friendly was in her sights.

"Oh God..." Katrina murmured to herself, still trying to get Michael away from the fight. It had only been a minute or so, but he was already leaving a trail of blood as Katrina and Nadia dragged him. He'd stopped coughing, a faint trickle of the crimson fluid dripping from between his lips.

With Nadia's assistance, Katrina managed to get Michael into cover behind a chunk of ruined masonry, and looked up at Nadia for a second. "Can you help him? I don't know how to do any of it," she said, her eyes shooting frantically between the bullet wound and Nadia.

Nadia shrugged as bullets whizzed all around. "I can stop the blood flow some," she said, tearing a strip of fabric off of his pants, "but if the bullet's stuck in there, we won't be able to remove it until later."

She took a bullet from one of the clips on her waist and gave it to Michael, instructing him to bite down on it. Then, the stuffed the strip of fabric into the wound to stop the bleeding. She poked her head around the corner and let loose a bit of supressing fire.

Johann threw himself behind a metal fence and began to reload. He cursed as the gunfire around him continued without relief, bullets clattering against his cover like rain splattering onto a roof. He took a quick peep through a hole and saw one of the Americans pointing a rifle directly at him. A flash of blinding light hit him then... nothing.

Johann looked down and saw his body lying still on the ground, blood pouring from a deep wound in his head. With a eerie calmness he realised he was dead, but that didn't seem to matter any more. He did regret leaving his wife and children behind, particularly the unborn child he would now never see, but as he floated upwards these thoughts drifted away to be replaced by peaceful melody...

Sorry guys, I've got a lot busier on the other RP I'm taking part in and if I'm honest I've just lost all interest in my character here, so I'm going to step out. Hope you all have fun.
