I honestly can't see what's worth arguing about. We were shit for the entire tournament, our star striker was probably thinking about 60+ year old hookers, Terry was probably thinking about which teammates girlfriend he's going to fuck next, and the rest of the team were thinking about their wages from the premiership.

Germany on the other hand were actually giving a shit about the task in hand and basically played us off the field.

It all turned out exactly like I suspected since way before the world cup finals started, which is why I withdrew my support for the lazy, overpaid 'team' long ago. I'm just glad we were soundly thrashed, now even the fans wearing blinkers can't ignore it.......and maybe now something will be done, not just the usual band-aid bullshit.

what was the outcome?
4 to 1 for Germany officially, but the referee missed a goal that pretty much everybody else - fans, commentators and so on - agree on.
I'd say it's actually 4 to 2.
4 to 2 it is then.
i hope england pulls itself together anytime soon. i know they CAN play.
that is not how it works though, they play differently depending on if they need the goal or can keep a tie or need to keep their lead. it would have been 2-2 and then anything could have happened
so what your saying is...that they lack passion and only do stuff if they really need to do it.
and *woosh* you saw that? that was the respect i had for the english football team. all gone now.
it's not them specifically it is how the sport works, if you are ahead, it is easier to take a defencive posture, and full on defence does nothing when you are behind already

Germany definitely deserved the win, they outclassed England in every department. While it didn't help that the ref derailed our momentum with what will undoubtably go down as the worst decision of the World Cup, it doesn't change the fact that our defence was unco-ordinated and diabolical. Elementary error after error and the Germans did what any world class team does and took advantage of it. You can never count out the Germans from the World Cup, no matter how "weak" or "young" the team supposedly is.

England needs to have a gay man as their goalie. Someone who knows how to handle balls.
Are you kidding? David James was the best player on their team.

Any sport in which a man (after being tapped slightly on the leg) falls down and pretends to cry is a waste of time.

I would have agreed with that statement before the disgraceful goal Argentina just got... fuck this WC. I can't take it seriously anymore.

Well seeing everyone on the first page saying england will crush you made me chuckle... we've been playing shit so far and that game was the worst we've ever played in a world cup match. Ah well at least we have wimbledon.

Fair play to the Germans, I had written them off as the weakest German side in many years with only Klose and Podolski (both Polish by the way ;P) capable of doing damage. But they showed just how much difference it makes when players play as a team and not individuals. Terry was appauling today, Rooney should be banned for all World Cups since he is clearly useless. Best striker in the world and has let us down twice now? Go figure. The only saving grace is that in 4 years time, Terry, Gerrard, Lampard, Heskey, Defoe, Crouch etc will be past it, then we get some team players.

Agree, people are blaming everything on the goal that never was, maybe it would have changed things, but we'll never know. All we can say is England bent over and took a rodgering

It just looks like a light tap because of the slow-mo most of the time. Imagine what it's like when you're running top speed and someone kicks you in the leg.

Whilst this is true - being knocked while running hell-for-leather does tend to lead to dramatic results, let's be honest in saying that all footballers overplay every single fall basically because they want a free kick and their opposition are trying exactly the same bad-sportsman trick.

I don't even LIKE football and I agree. Corruption is rife. Rife, I say.

I really don't think the refs decisions in the England game even come close to any refs decisions regarding all games to do with this years World Cup.

That's true. The fall itself is mostly real, but the pain usually is overacted quite a bit.

What I don't get is why football is so popular in the UK, we're much better at other sports. Further more I also don't get why we care about playing Germany when as already mentioned Germany mostly cares about playing Holland.
World Wars perhaps?
I think we can get over it now...
I disagree. How you can "Get over" so many innocent people that were killed because of a German's dictators ambitions is beyond me. When the final German who was involved in the war dies, I will then start to "get over it". That point can't come quick enough.
Everyone important at least is dead. You'd be better off turning your attention to Neo Nazis scattered throughout the world... but I digress so let's get back on topic.

No see I don't mind when someones actually hurt, but when people fake it for a penalty (or whatever it's called) it makes me mad.

You can't be serious about them being a weak side. Ozil has shown just how willing he is to work for a goal, Shweinsteiger(sp?) is good, and they'd be even better with Ballack.
