Erm... I really wonder what the Mods are gonna think when they see this thread. Just a bunch of Football Hooligans or are they gonna charge their Hammer?

Calumon: I regret nothing!

That's not a mistake that I'm aware of. The ref is part of the game, if the ball hits him the game does not stop, same thing if the ball it's the corner flag and bounces inside the field, the ball stays in play.

That stuff happens all the time. I think once Roberto Carlos murdered(not literally) a ref that got in the way of his supah cannon shot. Though the game stopped that time cause the ref was KO.

That was absolutely hilarious in an incredibly sad way. It exemplifies how terrible the refs have been throughout the World Cup.

No goal for you!
Hmm... Well, if you put it that way.
Still, why should the current English players pay for a referee fuck-up that happened 44 years ago.
Not justice.
It's just a German way of trying to justify a ridiculous decision. Pathetic. Goal line technology wasn't available to be used effeciently in 1966, it is now. Seriously, stop being so naive.

That ref. will find himself unemployed pretty quickly I think. I thought england played like shit until minute 37. Germany is technically better though, strategies and stuff like that.

Wow, people are acting like this is the most rigged game ever.

Come the fuck on.

The game was fair, well flowing and beautifull until now. Ref did an amazing job.
It was one bad call and that was the linesman and not the referee. Stop pretending like this is a conspiracy.

So guys...I heard the referee's bad?

Seriously though: This is why I prefer rugby, if there's ever a controversial decision then they just use the video ref. Silly footballing assosciation.

Well, nobody really said anything bad and I'm 50% sure some of the mods are watching the game right now and are just as saddened.

I'll give my honest opinion on this half: FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!

I hope the officials enjoy this game, because it's the last game they'll ever be involved in.

I'm glad I just tuned in to catch England's comeback.

About that non-goal; whenever the ball hits the underside of crossbar, it gains backspin. If the ball bounces against the ground and hits the crossbar again, it must have crossed the line. I'm surprised that the ref couldn't see this.

I like how the commentary keep layering exaggerations about the goal "It was a foot over the line", "It was several yards over the line", "It was miles over the line".

Not if Germany win 4-1. Then the excuse won't be there.
It can effect moral a lot so the excuse will still be there, but it looks like the moral is still high at the moment.

Why is football technologically retarded?

Every other sport on the planet lets the ref check video replays, if football did that too that goal would have been allowed and Ireland might be in the world cup because Thiery Henry wouldn't have gotten away with that handball...
I hear conspiracy theories that its a way to ensure big money nations get their teams put forward over nations with smaller populations when a controversial decision comes along.

France with a population of 50 million will have a lot more fans who will attend and put money into FIFA's pockets than a population of 3 million like Ireland

The trade off for this archaic form of refereeing of course is what happened to England right now.

Rofl, you obviously have no idea about football. The game is not "Rigged", it was an awful decision, it doesn't matter if it's "one bad call" as you put it, it's a call which can put a team out of the World Cup? You seriously have to be joking. This is controversy at its highest, it will be talked about for weeks, regardless of the result. It once again illustrates that FIFA needs to change it's outdated and backwards laws on technology within football.

Controversy? It could cost us the game. Amazing job? You're watching the wrong game. The linesman AND ref were at fault. if fans in the top corner opposite side of thestadium saw the goal, the ref can. stop making excuses and fuck off.

Cthulhu help us, this game is a joke.

Still, could be worse I guess: they could have a biased ref...

Can I bring up that one time we lost in Rugby, even when the Video Ref was brought in? WE GOT A TRY! LOOK AT IT!

They said it wasn't a try!

Calumon: Wow, his shoulders are bigger than me!
