I need some examples of epic battle speeches in games. Considering adapting one for English class. Any suggestions?

They always seem droney and uninspiring in games. Films however: LotR: RotK ride of the Rohirrim, Independence Day before the final attack (cheesey, but great if you are pissed or American), Braveheart etc.

You can always find epic speeches in the Total War games (I've only played Rome, though I'm sure there still are in the others), before any battle. Youtube them if you want, maybe you'll find some.

They might not be the perfect examples, but I always loved those little speeches before battles in the Total War games.

Especially the one in Rome: TW, when your commander has the bloodlust (or whatever it was called) trait. "I want to see blood! I want to bathe in their blood! I want to bathe in their blood for a week! Now... KILL THEM ALL!"

In Mass Effect where Captain Kirrahe makes his speech of "holding the line"
I'm pretty sure that was ripped off from something, but I can't remember what for the life of me.

OT: Don't know? I can't seem to recall any that stand out. There are a ton from movies and television that would work.
I love Aragorn's speech at the gates of Mordor.

Martin's speech in Oblivion looked motivating. I say looked because the audio glitched, so I couldn't actually hear the thing.

Does it have to be in games? If not, Aragorn's speech from The Return of the King is a pretty obvious choice. Or Theoden's speech from the books, before the battle on the Pelannor Fields.

Anything that ends with space marines charging while yelling "For the Emperor!"

On a slightly more serious note, take any WWII movie, and if they have a speech in it, it's likely pretty good.

Seeing a lack of properly GREAT Speeches (yes, yes i know Kirrahe's speech is awesome and i didn't say that they were all bad, i said there must be more /Flaming Defense/) i have gone to the ethers of the internet and reaped a bounty of Total War Quotes! Enjoy!

I want to see blood! I want to BATHE in their blood! I want to bathe in their blood for a week! Now, KILL THEM ALL! (from "bloody" or "bloodthirsty" Roman generals)

epicness And any man who comes through this fight mostly unharmed will be my sister! It'll be free frocks and jollies forever, you'll see! (from a "dangerously mad" Roman general)

I do not fight with a cool head today, I admit it. My eyes see only a red mist. I do not want them to run from battle, I want their heads on our pikes by evening! (from a Roman general with "angry")

They have been led here by mewling infants instead of leaders, now they will pay the price! (if the enemy general has poor skills)
How terrible it must be to face us; the sons of the wolf and the bear! Even now fear works in the bowels of our foes!(From Barbaric Generals, especially Germanic)

We are gathered here today to do battle. Regrettable isn't it? I didn't want to be here myself, but my grandmother told me that I better make a good show out of it. So here it goes. (from a Roman general with "tedious speaker" trait)

The enemy war god must have a sense of humour, I mean look at them (from a roman general when the enemy force is heavily damaged and vastly outnumbered)

My brave men! Victory shall be ours, by grace of my inspired leadership. But this means I can not risk myself in the front line. I must remain safe, guarded by you my loyal warriors! This is not cowardice, oh no. It is prudence, the handmaiden of victory!(from a roman general with "doubtful courage")

Now you're probably wondering about this evening's entertainment. There's enough wine in camp to float a boat. It's all yours when they're dead. Oh yes, and the camp women will be suitably appreciative too.

Now, you know I have a reputation for cunning in battle. I do not intend this to be a fair fight. I am going to fall upon them without warning! I will strike at their weakest points! This won't be a battle - it'll be a kick up the toga!

Let us offer prayers to the gods for victory. And then let us arm ourselves to the teeth, just in case the gods aren't listening

Or simply a speech consisting of "For the Emperor" would do, damn I love space marines.

Braveheart i'm sure had an epic speech in there somewhere, so did Killzone if memory serves. Of course then theirs always ones from historical figures such as churchill, various kings etc etc.

I do remember one or two quite epic speeches from my history classes yet I can't for the life of me remember who said them, once I find out i'll post again.

I loved the speech Scholar Visari makes at the start of Killzone 1.

Also anything in 300 works too

Captain: What happen ?
Mechanic: Somebody set up us the bomb.
Operator: We get signal.
Captain: What !
Operator: Main screen turn on.
Captain: It's you !!
Cats: How are you gentlemen !! All your base are belong to us. You are on the way to destruction.
Captain: What you say !!
Cats: You have no chance to survive make your time. Ha Ha Ha Ha ...
Operator: Captain !!
Captain: Take off every 'Zig' !! You know what you doing. Move 'Zig'. For great justice.

It's not a speech, of course, it's a dialog. But it's epic, in the litteral and figurative way.

Okay... Gotta say that Shepard, in the background, in his white and pink armor is pretty distracting.
I agree, but it ain't my Shepard, and my momma didn't raise me to judge. And on a more serious note, it had the best quality sound and picture so it was the choice
