Just as long as they're from the player's point of view I really don't care. Although I class the entire "Take it Back" mission from Fallout 3 when Liberty Prime is smashing the crap out of the Enclave up until you enter the purifier building as a cutscene with the OPTION for you to shoot things. It was just that epic.

Trickster scene from Thief, as a few have stated above.

I hardly remember the cutscene from the OP, but it just made want to play through KotOR2 again... after my exams >.<

This is the most recent I've come across:

And to stay in the Final Fantasy universe: Zack Fair's death in Crisis Core. Especially the build-up to it (the Turks try to reach him before the Shinra do, thus betraying their own organisation, and the very final battle:
You just KNOW he'll die, but you get some fighting gameplay anyway. I spent 20 minutes keeping Zack alive, hoping there was some alternate ending to it all. There isn't. I had to let him die in the first ending battle on purpose. After which a last stand fight is brought, and you gradually weaken (memories fading. Literally), 'till the actual death cutscene starts. Bah.

Opening cinematic for Fable 2, the one which follows the bird road bowerstone. I thought the scene where Nero and Dante fight in DMC4 was pretty cool, the right mix of arrogance and awesomeness

I would have to say the space battle from mass effect. Its best if you chose to save the council though

I have two favorites:

1. The opening scene of "The Witcher", where Geralt battles the cursed Striga princess.

2. Opening from Dynasty Warriors 5:

Pretty much anything in DMC4 but this one in particular.

Also the ending cutscene in which Nero deliver's the best line ever:

and the intro cinematic for Prototype. Just a heads up, it's probably not safe for work.

When Cole saves your sorry ass from an ambush in Gears 2. Not the greatest cutscene ever but a damn cool one
Loved that one. Especially when Cole lifted that guy over his head
after pushing his chainsaw right through the his chest.

The ending cutscene in Megaman Battle Network 3 on GBA, makes me all teardroppy every time I watch it. Even if I know there's more after the cutscene.

Or Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction has an epic ending cutscene. Short, but drastic.

Hmm... for me, avoiding repeating what's already been mentioned - Legacy of Kain. All of it. Seriously. Especially scenes wherein Raziel and Kain interact directly. Michael Bell and Simon Templeman are damn good at what they do. Not so much in terms of action, but the voices, the script, the cameras, the settings - it all works pitch-perfectly. Shame the series is apparently dead really. *sadface*

Example! Linkeh because embedding I can't make work. Soul Reaver spoilers alert!

Tomb Radier: Underworld. The line where Lara says: "I need Thor's belt to get his hammer, and I need that hammer to kill a god!" Maybe it's a little sad but I found that line really cool :D.

I totally agree with the OP on KOTOR2, a game with so much potential that failed to the disappointment of all....

Pff....TRYING desperately to think of all the awesome cutscenes I've seen throughout the years, but I'm just gonna go with the dream scenes from Baldur's Gate 2. :)
It doesn't get much more epic then your archenemy goading you into becoming more powerfull....for his own enjoyment.
And basically any Blizzard cutscene.

A lot of the cutscenes in DMC 3, like every cutscene in MGS is Gold, The final Cutscene in FFX is sweet and basically the entire game of Indigo Prophecy
