Does a game count? After playing Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness for the PSP, I played through with both English and Japanese audio. Though I found the original Japanese audio much more fitting, I like the English version more due to the personality it gave to the characters made me enjoy it a lot.

(I almost never watch any anime without subs, by the way. It's a game, so it's a slight exception...)

Name any of the rare situations that you felt that the dub either was as good as or better than the sub.

Full metal alchemist had a very good dub which I consider at least as good as the sub. Can't think of any other actual anime series were the dub beat the sub.

[Dons fire shield] With animation in general I much prefer dubs. A large percentage of acting is separate from the voice and I for one can't tell the difference between and angry Japanese person and a calm one.

Where the dubs are such low quality as to actually take away from the story then that's obviously a problem but I couldn't imagine Cowboy Bebop with subs.

I think Dragonball Z was the best dub ever. I liked it way better than the sub since Goku didn't sound like a kid. Sure it was funny the few times, but when the scenes look epic, Goku's voice ruins it.

I'm going to make sure to point out that you're talking about the Funimation dub. A few others tried unsuccessfully to dub it.

Anyway, I agree, wholeheartedly. This is the only anime that I know of that I prefer the American dub over the Japanese (excluding Shin Chan, which I don't count as a dub so much as a complete Americanization that I'm totally amazed with). Sean Schemmel (voice of adult Goku), Stephanie Nadolny (young Goku and young to teen Gohan), and (in my eyes, most importantly) Christopher Sabat (Vegita, Piccolo, Shenron, and dozens of other random voices), really sold the characters. Even the Japanese folks couldn't make Vegita and Piccolo sound more epic.

the worst dub I've ever heard(and hopefully ever will hear) is Resistance 2 dubbed to Norwegian. after watching the start, I immeadiatly turned the game of, and set my systemlanguage to english... it has stayed that way sins....

I "Liked" Naruto's dub a bit because all the voice actors from Bleach, but seriously the 1st series is the worst dub EVER. Belive it!
