PC is superior.
Oh, and i gotta say some things about Valve.
It's a shining diamond in the PC crown. They are releasing games slowly, but when they come out, it is totally worth the wait. Quality over quantity. Half Life is a wonderful story, most realistic and interesting alien invasion scenario ever made. Other games show Valve's tactic - rely on innovative ideas, and work on them till they reach perfection. You know, there is only one song, that i entirely remember - and it's not my national anthem or and song from known artist. It's Valve's Still Alive.
I completely agree. Everyone seems to be bitching about Valve for no real reason, just trying to attract attention from the Valve fans like you and I.

I still remember the golden days where content was given out for free as addons for the game. I didn't need to pay a cent to unlock anything.

It depends how intrusive it is. Disk check = OK. Verification every month = eh. Ubisoft's Disaster = BLAAAAARGH.

A rule of capitalism = something is worth what people are willing to pay for it.

Of course, it may also mean people won't respect you much ... like .. err .. banks, but until people stop buying this stuff, it's going to keep on going on.
Exactly.... I absolutely facepalm sometimes over what people are willing to pay for things... $1000 for a PS3 when it was first release with NO good games? $600 for a fucking Wii? Get a life people.

DRM and its sister DLC are the killers of the PC Industry.
Otherwise, it has been argued that Pcs can be a generation ahead of consoles.
Finally, they should go back to making games for PC, many games are made for Xbox and then fitted into a PC, this causes lag, as anyone who played AC2 on PC will tell you
PC Gamers have only themselves to blame. In the last 10 years, profitability on PC has plummeted. Hence the focus on consoles. Be sure to thank the next pirate you talk to for that :)

The only REAL thing that annoys me about PC gaming is CRASHES, GODDAMN CRASHING, it is seriously the bane of my PC gaming compared to consoles.
Crashing isn't even exclusive to PCs anymore.

I recall Bugfesta Bethesda games, Oblivion and Fallout 3, giving me so many damn problems on both my 360 and PS3. Crashes, framerate drops, gitches that halted my progress, etc.

Whereas the only PC games I played, Halo and Counter-Strike, never game me problems, even on this cheapass laptop.

The only main flaw of PC gaming for me is OS compatibility issues. Seriously, I shouldn't have to worry whether System Shock 2 will even run on my Vista laptop. It's an old game. Even this cheap hardware is more than enough to run a game that old. Yet I constantly hear of oldass PC games not working for Vista and it discourages me from trying out old PC games I never played before.

mouse controls are 1,000,000 times better than analog sticks.
and there are more genres: MMOs, RTS and a few other shitty ones
plus, the biggest one, there are NO graphic limitations.
Assassins Creed II on Xbox 360 does not look as nice, or play as nice as the PC version
The fact that you are a blatant PC elitist isn't gonna be your downfall, it's the fact that you are condoning piracy.

Let's look, first Half-Life released on 1998, and the expansion Opposing Force released on exactly one year later - 1999. This means for an expansion pack, 1 year can be enough
Sure, if you have a low-maintenance engine and an entirely separate developer to make it for you.

Honestly, when will people stop bitching about Valve and get on with their lives.
GOD DAMMIT, THIS IS MY LIFE YOU FOOL!

Civilization V... I'm absolutely amazed at how the gameplay can be so amazingly done when the technical side of the game is falling apart at every corner. Aside the awful AI that outright refuses several diplomacy options at all times making them pretty much useless to be there, the game is full of bugs, glitches and worst of all, non-system-specific crashes. And that's not even taking into consideration the the virtually nonexistent optimization.

Actually, crashing has never been exclusive to PCs. Certainly, I've had my fair share of GameCube and (less amounts of) N64 freezes.

So if PC gaming is the Aryan race, that means:

They think they're better in every way but are in the end just the same, and more likely to get overheated from sunburn
Their thirst for 1,000,000% control over everything saps the fun out them, making them cold, precise, and inhuman.
There are more genres? Says who?
Not to mention they don't know when to quit when faced with limitations, and so are forced to pour their money into increasingly wilder side-projects to achieve a goal that will already have moved on by the time they could reach it.
Assassins Creed II on Xbox 360 has no DRM. Game, Set and Match.

Believe it or not, I was a console gamer, and while I still play them I play PC more often nowadays, so I suppose I'm a PC gamer, but even I can see how thin the above argument is.

Half-Life a fail? Don't know about that. Say whatever you want about how long it takes to release EP 3, but I would wait long as needed to at least know they did their damn best with the game to make it great. Same would go here for Duke Nukem Forever. No issue waiting since 1997.

I'm a console to PC convert, but there are some things about PC gaming that bug me. For one thing I find the keyboard very awkward to use, that's probably just because my muscle memory is more suited to a controller, and PC gaming seems to be much more prone to bugs than consoles. Other than that, PC gaming is more enjoyable than console gaming IMO.
Keyboard - matter of getting used to. I used it my whole life and it (+mouse) is the most natural way of using the computer for me. And i always get lost while using pad (controller? Anything that controls something is a controller), never know which key does what. Bugs - nothing to do with PC, it's just developers wanting to release something quickly and not betatesting it enough. On PC's, updates are very easy both for developers and users, while on consoles it is very problematic for developers.
Like I said, I'm just more used to a controller since most of my gaming career has been that of a console gamer. I would probably use an Xbox controller (Best designed controller IMO) for the PC if I could find one.

Here's an example of what I mean by bugs: I just installed BFBC2 about twenty minutes ago and it played the first level fine, but it freezes every single time on the second level. I've had problems like this with TF2, Star Wars: Battlefront, Fallout: New Vegas, and Psychonauts but I've never had any problems like this on a console (Except Fallout 3, Bethesda games are notorious for bugs on any platform).
While I obviously can't say anything for certain I'd still hazard to guess that the problem may be with your computer.

Those games you mention run on wildly different engines, are of various ages and aside from New Vegas not generally know for their crashing abilities. I think it would be worth considering if you have some hardware failure messing things up or perhaps a piece of software? Are you overclocking?

And NV is kinda obvious as Bethesda managed to make Fallout 3 crash several times on my PS3. But I'd say that NV, on my PC, is more stable and runs at at better FPS than Fallout 3 does.
