I totally misread this thread. Thought it was about openings in Epic Games, like jobs and such.
but oh well, might as well contribute.
I quite liked the ODST opening. Thought it was quite awesome.

Oh, actually, I much preferred the KH2 opening. I loved that one so much.

Not sure if it counts, but the entire opening section of GOW3 was the most awesome thing i've experienced in while with a game, but like i said, not sure if all that counts since your actually playing it instead of watching it as a cutscene...

Mass Effect 2 definately! Best game opening ever IMO. And it seems things just sort of went downhill from there, but still the opening cinematic and then the first mission on Lazarus Station are great.

As far as intro cinematics, my favorite is probably the one from Warcraft III.

But I would also count the first level as a part of the "opening", in which case I cast my vote for God of War 2.
