fucking modern Epic fanboys don't know shit about true manliness

they say that Marcus Fenix is the manliest son of a ***** in the world, yet, he doesn't hold a candle to a green Rambo rabbit with a gun that can do anything

jesus, nostalgia overload XD

I keep my PS3 because of the exclusives it has, I bought it because it had games I couldn't get on PC, Wii or 360, so is that so bad if it works?
Yes it is. You paid 600+ bucks that you wouldnt have had to pay, had the developers made the game cross platform.

Dont get me wrong, I think halo and gears should be made cross platform to. But all of you who keep quoting me keep forgetting one simple fact. Its just not easy to make games for the 360 AND Ps3. You have to rewrite the dam game for each console.

One of the biggest reasons that the Ps3 has so many exclusives is because once you decide to make a game on it, unless your game is getting a huge cash injection (like movie games), you probably wont be able to afford developing the same game AGAIN for 360 and Pc.

I just dont see how 10-20 hours of gameplay per Ps3 Exclusive could possibly be worth 600+ bucks for a new console and games, when you could just play a game 'like' it on 360, or Pc.

If you bought a PS3 when they first came out because you just really liked the console fine.
What exactly are you going on about? :/

PS3, Wii & 360 exclusives have outperformed and outsold many multiplat titles PUT TOGETHER. Take Team Ninja for example. Heavenly Sword outsold Enslaved, many times over in fact. I want a gaming machine to play games, is that so wrong? So yes, I did pay the price and it was damn well worth it, yesterday I finally completed Uncharted 2 and can safely say it is hands down one of my favourite games ever. Would it have been better as a multiplat? Beats me, I haven't seen many multiplat games in it's league, but that's not the point, the point is that it is a game I found to be enjoyable and after playing it, I would definitely buy a PS3 for it had I not had one already.

PS3 has lots of exclusives because they have a strong first party line up, simple as, they'd rather have a full game experience for which they can do as they will then conform to the restraints that third parties face. Third parties have capital concerns, they worry about technology and graphics and multiplayer, they fret over keeping things the same and limit experiences and the length of experiences, FF13 was cut down JUST because of 360, not that it was a ground breaking game anyway, but still. First parties don't have that problem and you can see that in the quality of the exclusives that release, they are beautiful, they are massive and thier gameplay feels great because the developers don't have anything restricting them.

And last but not least, 10-20 hours makes the difference, there are very few if any games like the exclusives on PS3, few that look or play as good as God of War, look as pretty and have amazing voice work as Uncharted, immerse the gamer in mystery and story like Heavy Rain and are completly out there but amazing none the less like Shadow of the Collosus. I sold my 360 off because it has hardly any AAA games that I can't already get on PC or PS3, so yes, exclusives make the difference, at least to me anyway, because I like games.

Id say those are some dam good reasons, especially since I for one dont want it on the ps3.
Why? The game would certainly benefit from the added horsepower.

Okay, not really: the graphics would; everything else would stay the same way.
Unreal Engine 3 games usually don't look better on the PS3, if anything they usually look worse. However Epic has shown that they themselves are good at working on the PS3 with the work they did on UT3. That said, I still don't expect the PS3 to benefit, except perhaps for getting keyboard and mouse support.
They made the engine. If they feel they can make a profit, they will. Maybe a few tweaks here and there, but when they get it done it will look much better.

Dude 1st party games produced by the AAA industry dont keep consoles alive. They allow consoles to break into the market.

3rd party games keep a console alive, well after the 1st party giants have moved on to other things.

The sole reason why the PS2 was the best system in its generation was because it was cheap, and had the largest game library out of the 3 at the time.

Sony screwed themselves with the ps3. Consoles should not cost the same as a gaming PC.

There really is no law to state that first parties can't be the saving grave or the prime attraction to a console. A game is a game, nobody cares whether it is first party or not (unless you can't play it because it's not on your platform of choice), far less casuals. If Guitar Hero had been exclusive it would have sold well, if Black Ops had been an exclusive, it would have sold well. Maybe not AS well, but well none the less. So I still don't get your point.

PS2 was indeed cheap, plus it had plenty of exclusives both third and first party that both Xbox and Gamecube didn't have and the ones that did go multiplat released a whole year or so after on other consoles, so you shot yourself in the foot with that point. PS2 was also a different architecture to the other two as the PS3 is today. In fact, if development wasn't so expensive nowadays, you would see far more exclusives on either consoles from third parties as well.

Regardless, that wasn't my initial point, my point was that exclusives have less restrictions and are usually better quality then a majority of third party games. You said earlier that there is a multiplat game as good and similar to every exclusive on PS3, prove that, because obviously I have yet to see these games.

The only point I agree to so far is the point regarding the price, but only hardcore PS3 fans bought PS3 at launch at that price, I certainly didn't :/ So that point is meaningless to me, the price is equal now and in some cases (to some people anyway) better value then 360.

Saying exclusives is the be all for PS3 is no less stupid as the same people saying XBL is the be all for 360, those of us not interested in chat features and extensive multiplayer features will not fall for that marketing. To be honest, I fail to see what your problem with the PS3 and its exclusives is, you make it seem as if Sony has no third party support, when some of the same third parties are also releasing AAA and normal exclusives on PS3, have you forgotten about MGS4, Yakuza and FFVersus?

I hope to god they don't pull a Bioware and just port Gears 3 onto the PS3, and instead the whole trilogy.

Yes, Bioware, I want my Mass Effect 1 on the PS3.
