And if you like the movie, then you will definitely love Æon Flux.

I can't get enough of this film. The action sequences, although somewhat far-fetched, are incredibly well choreographed and it has a plot far deeper than your average action movie.

It's too bad the big budget 'successor' was Ultraviolet. A terrible, terrible movie.
I hate you....

I had almost forgotten about that crime against movies and now you have gone and reminded me about it. I would say Ultraviolet is on my list of worst movies of all time and very near the top.

Its nothing personal you understand but i still hate you....

Good film but the acting could have been better.

Considering everyone took pills to suppress emotion, and awful lot of people smiled...

I liked this movie, allot of the action was a little over stylized but the final duel with two guys standing face to face trying to shoot each other in the face was pretty damn cool

It's a bit like Wolverine. The plot is stupid, the script mediocre, the central character is a good actor who deserves much better, and it's enjoyable just for the absurdity and slick fight scenes.

The plot attempts to be deep, but fails miserably. When you have a civilisation without emotions, your policemen should not shout "Fuck!" at the slightest provocation.

I love it.... it's one of my guilty pleasures... the story is flawed and full of plot holes... but I easily ignore them and enjoy the film for what it is.

One of my favorite aspects of the film is the music.... watch it more than once and at least pay attention to the music... it's implemented very well and really adds to the mood of the film.

Gun Kata might be over the top for some... but I thought it was a nifty idea... although far-fetched. It was a good break from the typical bullet time junk.

Some people call it a Matrix rip-off er some crap like that... personally, I don't get it... the stories are completely different.. and Equilibrium doesn't even use bullet time.

It's a fun action sci-fi flick.... if you watch it and try not to take it too seriously.. I think most people can enjoy it.

This is an awesome movie, also known as Cubic in other parts of the world. I really enjoy it every time I watch it. Another impressive performance by Bale, and no, he does not talk like in Batman. I'd compare it more to American Psycho than Batman, if comparisons have to be made.

I really liked it. except the bit with sean bean right at the beginning, he always annoys me

and no. it does not rip off the matrix AT ALL
but it does rip off 1984 ALOT

A friend of mine made me watch it and I really couldn't get myself to like it.
It is far from original, the 'Let's get rid of human emotions' thing has been done times and times before and it has been done a lot better than this. Also, the bad guy who's name I can't remember can't act and he wasn't the only one. I also found the plot rather shallow.
I didn't hate it, but it was very, very meh.

i recently saw this movie, even though it came out in 2003, and i really liked it, i thought that the plot was developed at the perfect speed, and the gun fights were awesome. i was just wondering how other escapists felt about this movie, i know its not the most well known movie.

and for those who think that its just another sci-fi shooting movie, like the matrix, the gun fights take a back seat to the plot, there are only a few fights, one at the beginning, a small one in the middle, and a big one at the end.
christian bale ftw.

yeah its a good movie.

It's a movie for people to think while watching. That's something most people aren't used to doing. Most will just miss it entirely and failing to understand it write it off as pointless (e.g: goodmorningblues over there), but if you actually understand it it's a brilliant movie.

I liked the action, but the whole thing about Librium stopping people's emotions is just not done properly in the film.
The character played by Taye Diggs is obviously experiencing emotions (pride, annoyance etc), the Brian Conley character experiences fear when threatened by Christian Bale, lots of the 'cops' seem to be experiencing fear while Bale kills them. If they'd written it with more care, so that the other parts were truly emotionless it would have been better.

Great fights though :)

It was a pretty slick movie. Though I do have to question a martial art gun-fu style based entirely around cool poses.
it actually explained it i the movie the philosophy is to shoot acuratly from positions that someone who aims normaly would not expect
Yeah, the idea of statistically probably lines of fire is kinda laughable from a combat standpoint. I just wonder why those positions are all coincidentally cool poses. Guess it makes for a better visual aesthetic.

Don't take this the wrong way but - Were you smoking crack while watching this movie? Don;t get me wrong, I think it;s a great movie FOR THE ACTION scenes, the plot was insanely retarded.
