Im not into comics but i was addicted to Marvel Super Heroes arcade back in 95 and it was all about Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet so im interested.

There's potential for a movie for each Gem of the gauntlet

I was wondering if Movie Bob was going to comment on the WBC attempting to protest the con but, attention is exactly what they want.

I don't know if it was announced at Comic-Con but, Guillermo Del Tor finally got his "At the Mountains of Madness" movie greenlit. It helped that James Cameron is one of the producers to make it in 3-D. Apparently it has been so hard to get funding because the movie is going to be rated R and will not have a happy ending.

Since I have absolutely no interest in Thor, Captain Human Torch or the Avengers, I knew nothing about the Marvel presence at Comic-Con other than the fact that everyone was there. The.. gauntlet was a surprise, and.. I am no longer disinterested in the Marvel projects -.-

I hate having to still explain this, so I'm going to do it in Bold face so everyone gets it:
A LOT OF COMIC BOOK OUTFITS WOULD LOOK FUCKING STUPID ON SCREEN!

There are some that'll work, some that'll do fine and some that will sink the entire movie if they show up wearing them and a very small number which look stupid even in context of the comic. Hawkeye will not be wearing purple because it would look idiotic and I hope to god they lose the stupid mask too. Wolverine's costume is that rare kind of costume that would get the amazing "Costume problem" trifecta:
1) Make the movie IMPOSSIBLE to take seriously
2) Add a fairly solid extra amount to the budget
3) Add an extra month to the production time, due to the time lost putting it on and getting it off.

As for Batman, all the comics have said or suggested that he wears Kevlar (it would strain believability if he didn't) and I've got news for you: That's what he would HAVE to wear. Does it have some visual problems, sure. Is it better than being asked to believe that "No really, this cloth is bullet proof." Yeah it is.

Lastly, I'm sorry but costume is ultimately unimportant. Iron Man could be spray-painted black, and I wouldn't care so long as the writing was solid, the action was good and the actors did their job well. Daredevil and Fantastic 4 had fairly true-to-the-comics outfits and that didn't stop them from being mediocre and complete shit, respectively. And I sure as hell didn't hear you complaining when Doc Ock showed up in Spider-Man 2 in a trenchcoat instead of green spandex ;).
Sorry youre wrong. X-Men are the Exception, not the rule.

Every other comic base movie was a success in small part due to their faithful portrayal of their source material. I find it harder to take a Comic base movie seriously when its all black and brown, being all "real" and "gritty" because i go watch them EXPECTING them to look like they do in the comics. when they don't its just silly. Making something that is FANTASY "realistic" makes no sense.

Any that failed u can blame SOLELY on terrible narrative and acting. I love the way the Fantastic 4 (the villains in them movies were probably the best looking) looked and how Daredevil looked (its the reason i saw the movies in theater, mediocre tho they be). Even the incredible hulk and all his silly green giantness. Michael Keatons Batman was awesome and seriously gloomy which some ppl still think is the best batman movie. Christopher Reeves Superman was ripped off the comics, and ppl took that seriously. So i really have no idea where u come from thinking its not important. it isn't movie breaking by all means it just brings more credibility. Its the hero's IDENTITY. without their costume they are just any joe shmo off the street.

P.S. If HellBoy didnt look like he did in the Comics, the movie would have failed completely instead it was entertaining as hell. Arg! didnt mean for the pun! XD but anyways explain to me how you thought it was IMPOSSIBLE to take seriously as a movie when it was completely faithful to its source? (Having a giant red devil, blue fish, corpse nazi, tentacle monster XD)

So the "Red Skull" is hunting for sugar cubes...in space?!
No, that cube goes by the name of Cosmic Cube, it was created by A.I.M, a science crazy organization, which possess the power to create anything from you imagination.

Despite being a complete noob to the Infinite Gauntlet story (which will now be remedied over the weekend), I completely shat every square-inch of my pants when that glove was shown off in this video.

Please, please, please let these movies not suck on toast.

NERDGASM!

The question of the villian was the only question I was asking the second Nick Furry pooped up after Iron Man.

Although I'm not sure what the reference with that comic panel of a glowing cube meant that you were very intrigued over... but then again, you can't know ALL the Marvel universe.

I don't know anything about Marvel universe from comic books cause I don't read that stuff. No comics in my country :( But I'm still excited about Thor and The Avengers. Not so much about Captain America. The whole concept never appealed to me.

I love how people completely miss my point. Yes, Fantastic 4 and Daredevil's failure can be blamed on their story and script problems, that was the point, that what the character looks like doesn't matter what matters is the MOVIE. It's not about making it realistic, it's about what it looks like. I'm sorry to break it to but Woverine's classic costume looks silly at best and downright stupid at worst and in a serious movie, having him show up in that outfit would be like...oh, if they're saying Captain America is coming to fight the Nazi's and BAM, it's Tim Curry, circa Rocky Horror.

This applies to practicality too, since we can't have Robin showing up on screen in bright Red and Yellow. He's a stealth based fighter, he'd get shot in an instant (which is, incidentally, why you can't put him in the movies :)) I have just as much problem with some redesigns too (Yes, I too hate the new Green Lantern outfit) but some things that work in comics are not going to work on screen.

Random question how badly is "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" going to do when it is coming out the same day as the Expendables and Eat, Pray, Love. My guess is that it's going to be a slaughter.

PS: TRON 2. nice.
it will do amazing and cause all the other movies to fail epicly.
