I remember a year or so ago when they showed one of the first trailers. I thought, "My, this looks terrible. It looks like a cheesy comedy, or at least that's what the trailer is telling me."

Flash forward to a couple of weeks ago and I see "cleaned up" trailers, trying to tote the seriousness of the movie. I wasn't buying it. I saw the other trailers guys, did you think I would forget that?

Well I dodged a bullet here. Some of my friends went to go see this film around midday in the UK, only because one really wanted to and other was just too polite. I think it's polite not to waste one's money.

Hmmm, after typing this far I'm going to hold off posting this comment to see what they said on Facebook...

...yep, no good.

I hope this doesn't hurt the prospect of the Deadpool movie. He may be mis-cast as Hal Jordan, but I think he's pretty much the perfect casting as Wade Wilson.

It still will be an box-office hit, non-critics will love it, and sequel will me made. Thats just the way it is.

Is anyone really surprised? Those special effects look cheap and pathetic. The 2003 Hulk movie looked better. And while Ryan Reynolds might be a good actor, sorry I just can't see him as Hal Jordan. Plus they tried to cram in way too much. Parallax and Sinestro and Hammond? It's like they just decided to jump ahead and make this movie like a part 3 of a superhero franchise.

I can sympathise with Moviebob's disappointment but really, why is anyone surprised at this? The second I saw the trailer- hell, the second I saw the first promotional stills of the goofy mask- I knew this was going to suck.

How bizarre, you sounded angrier than Yahtzee, and i actually expected that the video was going to end with something along the lines of "nah, im just sarcastic, the movie is great, go see it", particularly because the CGI stuff that got criticism looks pretty good to me. On the small player window in low res ... Such a shame about the movie.

PS appropriate time to say im glad there was no intro? Do we really still have to wait 20 seconds for the bit we want to see after so many episodes?

I'm going to go see it, probably in a week or 2. As a Green Lantern fan, I feel obliged to see how it turns out.

If it's as bad as you say (and I fear it is) then i'm crushingly disappointed. As a fan since Rebirth, I've been hoping this movie would have been good - huge shame if it isn't.

Also, regarding Waller...why would she be in it? She's usually identified with Checkmate, or the Suicide Squad - never really with Green Lantern.

I shouldn't be surprised that a comic book-movie adaptation turned out bad as usual, but I am surprised at how bad this one turned out.

Also, I'm not gonna be surprised if my parent's see it... and love it. DX

To be honest Bob, I believe you, I just wish your review had more substance. To me, it came off as a five minute tirade. How am I supposed to feel about a review filled with so much hyperbole?

Mind you, this isn't the first negative review I've seen for the movie, I just wish I knew more about why "every frame" or "every scene" is wrong. Instead, you go on and on about the costume. The "floating head" bit helps me better understand one problem you had with the costume, but your rant about the costume design just seems to come off like the Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons :/

... which was even more compounded by your litany of comic book movies. Bat Many Forever, sure, but Fantastic Four? Not a five star movie for sure, but better than X-Men 3.

IMPO, I think your standards might be set much higher than mine. I think a lot of us are just expecting a popcorn movie, not a life-changing event.

Whelp... I'm glad I didn't care to begin with... but I get the feeling this being so terrible will hurt the chanced of Ryan Renalds as Deadpool.

Oh man, I actually thought this movie was going to be really good. I'm still going to see it, but it won't be this week, so you get your wish Bob.

Also, I like daredevil! Leave it alone! ^^

I think 5 minutes of rage was what he was going for. As he said it'd take several videos to point out all the things that are wrong. He could at least do a written one outlining the movie's several flaws, but I guess just saying its bad over and over for 5 minutes is just as good.

I saw it today. It was OK.
Nowhere near the level of X-Men: First class. But overall OK, why not.
I'd call it passable.
