the first movie was good. the second one was a parody of the first one, and the third one where a parody of the second one. I wish they didn't make parodies as sequels. and that they didn't make parodies of the parodies again.
Frankly I blame reality-tv for this. reality-tv sucks the intelligence out of your brain. after a short while you stop caring about the fact that there are no story or purpose in it, and just sits there stupefied going "aaah" and "oohh" whenever some thing shiny crosses the screen.

Everything he said is true, i payed to see this PoS tonignt. i could just see the guys behind this movie rolling in my money and laughing for how mutch this product is shoddy discraceful mess.

As much as I've expected. Didn't like the 1st movie to begin with, and it's been going downhill since the 2nd one.
Also, I don't mean to be anal about this, while the shot looks good, there is 1 major difference between a monkey and an ape, and believe me, what you showed wasn't a monkey.
3 guesses as to what that difference is. And no, it's not the size of the body.
EDIT: Believe me, I know (and love) animals. Why do you think I took the Gangrel Symbol as my avatar?

Thank you for saving me from this movie. My wife had the idea to go see it, but I was dubious. Your review helped convince her otherwise.

With an entirely different cast/writer/director than the original series. If somehow "On Stranger Tides" had a completely different cast and no Jack Sparrow, THEN it might be decent. I'm sorry, but this is one of those times I fall in the camp of "Bob has seen too many movies/It's hip today to hate on mainstream popular things."
Because this movie was FUN. In fact, it's probably the only thing out right now worth paying money to see (assuming you haven't seen THOR yet).
I think these days people forget how to just go have a good time watching a movie. Besides, who are we all kidding? Sure, we won't all go pay $10 bucks to see it in the theatre, but you can bet your ass we'll all watch it at some point because we KNOW it is entertainment. There just seems to be some sort of level of entertainment vs time worthiness based solely on PRICE. Go to the theater to see it? Pishaw! Wait, it's out on netflix or redbox? It's pirate movie night!
This is one of the few times I'd urge people to give Bob's REVIEW a pass instead of this movie. It's fun, it's entertaining, it sucks you into the world that they've created over the years with the pirates mythos. I didn't leave thinking I was suckered out of my money. I left thinking it was a great movie and me and my friends are still talking about our favorite scenes. What else could one ask for from a movie outing?!
But I'm sure Bob will come back and tell us to go see some contrived drivel of a movie made by some unknown, independent director with great raw talent and vision filming some wholly unique but ultimately disinteresting to everyone but people who like to be "different" movie that we should all be clamoring to see, but aren't because the movie didn't appeal to us the way HE and such people think it should. Like Soul Surfer or Everything Must Go or Kill The Irishman.. you know, obscure films like that.. mostly because they are obscure.
