Attention Duelists! My hair is surprised that so many people know about this!
I don?t understand a word you just said. Try speaking American; it?s the only language I understand.
I see what you did there.

Thank god you understand that Avatar's plot is fine. Seriously, if you only have a few movies to compare the plot to after 50+ years of movies, you've got a decent plot.
Here here.

Everyone who keeps pointing out that avatars plot has been done before is just railing against a popular movie for the sake of looking "cool" on the internet. Imo.

It was remarkably well presented, visually spectacular, the characters and settings where remarkably fleshed out. Even if it is just dances with wolves again its on of the best dances with wolves movies out there.
It wasn't Avatar's plot that made me dislike it. It was the film's long, drawn out, anvilicious nature that did it for me, as well as many other people I know. It made me groan when it tried to be witty, and made me cringe when it tried to send a message. Why couldn't it just be about humans and aliens romping around a visually stunning world?

The plot was fine and the movie looked beautiful. I don't even really hate Avatar. It just annoys me. Not all of us dislike Avatar for it's cliche plot. All plots are cliche, and it is unique execution that distinguishes them from all of the others. But that doesn't mean I can't dislike the movie for other reasons. Please stop harping about people who didn't like Avatar.

As for Shuttah Island, I've never heard of it until now, probably since I don't watch much TV or see many movies. It looks interesting and impressive, and from what Bob described, It's worth my while to see.

I'm really happy to see this get the MovieBob seal of approval. I was on the fence seeing Scorsese at the helm of a scary/horror movie, but what the hell was I worried about? It's Scorsese!

(Also, Many Happy Returns, Bob.)

I guess we have to agree to disagree then. I didn't think it tried to be witty or send a message to he honest. I never thought there was a political agenda or greater message to the movie (except for one part, one line sounded like a reference to the war in iraq but...eh)

Ad the main characters poor humor was a reflection of his insecurity imo. He jokes lamely because he is till trying to get the people around him to accept him but at the same time is afraid of sounding lame but ends up sounding lame anyway. Notice he stops the jokes after he discovers his true place among the Na'vi? Thats what I think anyway.

I'm talking about how nature is good and humans are the devil. The human villains were such transparent Captain Planet businessmen that they made me roll my eyes every time they spoke.

And when I say wit, what comes to mind is the "moron" thing. Ha ha! They're calling him a moron! Because he is a moron! It's not like he from another planet and is trying to learn how to live in a dangerous alien rainfore.... OH WAIT.

I agree to disagree. After all, the stuff that gets on my nerves doesn't bother everyone else. I just want everyone to stop harping on people who didn't like the movie. We aren't all internet posers, you know.

You and your doing a review in the accent Decaprio uses in the movie well as long as it isn't the Boston accent that thing pisses me off and I live/grew up in mass. Yes I realize you do too so you know exactly what I mean! That aside great review and I suppose I will go on down the the local cinema and watch this.

Happy birthday bob if I ever see you I will give you a big ol' hug!

The name of Scorsese doesn't mean anything for me after what he had done with the Infernal affairs trilogy. But I'm still excited about this as I were in the las years when heard from it.

Also, what is with the gangster accent poppin' in every 2 seconds? Or is it just me?
He's always had the accent, just he usually hides it. I guess he didn't feel like doing it in this review.

But he is a moron. In the same sense that before that he was a baby. Its symbolic. He doesn't know anything about the place he is in, nothing about the ecosystem or the culture of the Na'vi. They aren't being mean to be funny, they just won't recognize him as an adult until he learns. IE grows up from a baby, stops being a moron. It is symbolic of his growth and journey. Its called tough love. :)

Yhea the humans villains where bullshit, but I still hated them. And you are supposed to hate the bad guys. I didn't see it as a humans are evil and nature is good type story to be honest. Just the filthy corporate out for nothing but money are evil.

I don't think of everyone who hates avatar as an internet poser, only the ones who post one sentence responses.

Oh damn you all for taking all the good Brooklyn accent/Yu-Gi-Oh abridged jokes. I'm surprised so many people thought of it as well as me, though.
