WTF was that?! i came here to see a movie review not a rant.......

you moaned more about that than twilight...

also just so you all know, i saw it and I thought it was very good, movies dont have to be works of art, they can just be a fun movie, all my buddies liked it too...

the only complaint i really have is the poor special effects

In your review, Bob, you mention that the actors could do "So much more" and were "Just cashing in a paycheck". Sorry, no. Stallone made this movie because he wanted to. It was never about making audiences weep, it was about getting together a ton of action stars and letting them have fun making a brainless movie. I can't judge it on its merit to the viewer, as I haven't seen it yet, but if the artists (And they are artists, be this good art or bad art) enjoyed it then it has at least some merit.

Saw Scott Pilgrim instead, which was ...okay. I'm not very much of a retro-gamer, but I am an avid troper, so I picked up on when a joke hit without really getting it at all. Also, Stephen Stills was a much better character than Scott and I kept wanting the movie to go back to him. Something I found on Tvtropes illustrates this:

"Hero Of Another Story: Edgar Wright stated that in his mind, there's an entire other movie going on - which he described as "Stephen Stills' Almost Famous" - that the audience only occasionally intersects with."

By the time Gideon showed up I was wishing I was watching Stephen Stills' Almost Famous.

The video took the words right out of my mouth. But seriously I was so angry when I discovered Ahnuld and Bruce Willis were only cameos! And this was pathetic because they were the best characters in the movie! Well...Terry Crews was ok as well....after all, he threw a missile at a helicopter.

One get's the feeling that MovieBob wasn't at all impressed by that film. Just a hunch. (Joke).

Man, he didn't get this cross in the review of 'Legion' or 'Jenifer's Body', or several other bad movies he's reviewed.

Thank you Bob for stopping us from going to see this movie. And as others have said before me, thereby saving my money to go and see Scott Pilgrim. (Man, I can't wait for that film to come out over here in the UK).

Shame. Stallone's last films, Rocky Balboa and Rambo were great...he did direct those, too, right?

That whole bit about you enjoying the premise so much; you don't think when this movie was being pitched to the studio that maybe that was the major selling point? Cram a bunch of action film stars into a movie people will love that! They know their target audience and they went for it. By your comments I can see they nailed it in your case.
Of course that was the major selling point. How does that change anything?
That was directed towards your sheep comments. You aren't a blind a slave to hollywood, you're a willing follower. They made it appeal to a lot of people through clever psychology and by knowing how people react to movies like this. It's a movie that is in no way made to be anything special but just to bring in a nice profit. That's why some people get annoyed by it since at end of the idea it's really about nothing.
Why does every movie need to be about something? The very first criteria I judge a movie on after I've seen it is whether or not it was enjoyable. Believe it or not, sometimes plot can just get in the way.

AND THIS BIRD U CANNOT CHANANANANANGE!!!

I personally don't think it does. I can enjoy mindless movies with friends point out the flaws and laugh at them or just sit back and enjoy the special effects.

Reviewers, movie critics and other such elites on the other hand need something more. They want innovation, they want something they never saw before, they want to leave the movie theatre thinking that they got something from the movie. That comment was said more to say that I can understand where Bob is coming from.

As I said in a previous post I saw the Expendables and enjoyed it.

Yeah he did.

The movie was somewhere between Meh and OK. The AA12 scene was good, but otherwise the action was pretty lame, and Willis/Schwarzenegger were really in the whole thing just for the trailer. If you want an 80's style balls-out action movie, watch the 2008 Rambo. It just did everything better than the Expendables.

XD Wow so many different opinions for this movie.

This is another Transformer review though considering the rage you gave for this movie.

I decided a while a go I wasn't seeing this film and one reviewer confirmed that. His name is Spoony and funny enough his friend, the Cinema Snob, another reviewer, loved it. He was basically fanboying the whole time, and believe me he's a respectable critic. He just loved it because he got to see his generations heroes fighting together and he didn't care whether it sucked or not.

On the other hand Spoony loved Scott Pilgrim analyzing it like you did, whole Snob hated it because he didn't understand it, which is funny because most people think he would.

Another guy hated Scott pilgrim also but this has just been a funny time for movies and the people who watch him.

I still can't get over the fact that Eat Pray Love is doing so well ;P I thought people had gotten over Julia Roberts by now, considering how she is apparently a total *****.

Bob jumped the shark. This was not a review it was a rant. I could care less about the movie that was being reviewed but this was not a proper review for reasons pointed out elsewhere in these comments. Get it together Bob and get back to doing reviews.
