Just watched it; great movie! The premise is funny, the atmosphere is great, the tension is nervewracking and the action is impeccable.

A great little gem.

I expected you to do either Bridesmaid, Priest, or Hesher....interesting choice though. I was curious about it when I heard about it through SXSW (or was it Fantastic Fest) reviews.

I saw this review come up and I thought, "Didn't Bob already review this?"

No! I first saw Troll Hunter reviewed on on Teleport City [http://teleport-city.com/wordpress/?p=20707] about a month ago, and the reviewer, Keith, pretty much shares Bob's opinion.

"You asked for it, you got it - MovieBob reviews Troll Hunter."
Nope, already saw it. 8 out of 10.
Too bad you didn't get to screen Priest, as I am way more interested in your opinion of that.

Wow, this movie looks awesome! I haven't even heard of it until now - thanks for highlighting it, Bob! It is indeed a beautiful thing that new technology is allowing films like this to be made. I'll have to try to track down a DVD sometime.

One thing, though - does anyone else think the MovieBob videos suffer some from the modern movie trailer's tendency to show too much?

I saw it when it came out(Norwegian, mildly surprised at how many of us are here), but ended up not really caring for it. Didn't know how to feel, whether to take it seriously or if I didn't get the joke. Most of the time, anyway. There are two scenes where two other, popular comedians have cameos, and those were pretty funny. The final scene too. I much prefer it to the usual... social problem films, but I'm amazed it's gotten this popular.

Huh.

I was aware of this, but it was completely off my radar. After seeing this review, I'm interested in it. I've always loved the art style associated with nordic depictions of trolls, and I love fake-documentary films, so this is right up my alley.

Thanks for drawing this to my attention.

I watched the movie here in Norway when it came out and really liked it, so I'm glad that MovieBob gives it some love. Should really check the film out if you get the chance!

Honestly, I'm glad he didn't get a screening for priest and instead had to do this, because I already know there's no way I want to see that, and this was a movie I've never heard of that sounds much more interesting. That said, I'm still wary of the whole handheld camera style of filmmaking, but I still think it's worth giving this a chance. If it plays around here, that is :( Delaware has probably the country's worst theaters.

I loved this movie, it was awesome =D And Hans was the best bit!

People who don't speak Norwegian: subtitles are your friends. It IS possible to watch a movie and read subtitles at the same time. We do it all the time in Sweden ;) (Heck, I shamefully don't understand 90% of Norwegian...) Training is the key!

Från en svensk till en annan, man måste fatta mer än 90% :)

Back to the subject in hand, it's good to see a movie that is not from the American scene, it feels a little like the Americans are a little snowed in about the rest of the world. (No offense)

Anyway, some indimovies is nice to see!

Okej då, 80% =P

Danskan är det ännu värre med...

OT: I reiterate: subtitles are your friends =)

Nice work, fellow vikings. Although we are on way to winning the Eurovsion song contest.

From Valhalla and back, norweigan brothers!
In fairness, you're against Jedward in the song contest. You'll win, but it won't exactly be worth bragging about.

OT: This film looks amazing. I hope that for once the personal video camera approach doesn't screw the whole thing up.

When I heard "recovered footage of college students" I immediately thought "Blair witch!". PLEASE tell me it's not all shakey-cam. I hate that.

As for what Del Toro might think? Probably "Whoa! This makes my Hellboy sequel look even more like shit... Not having mythical beasts sing a drunken love song really is a good idea!"
