So the Brits/Irish/Scottish just had theirs, and I've had plans in the pipeline for another this year.

Anyway! To the point. Date will be December 5th. Same deal as last time with the meeting at Central Railway station. Just a note, this is in the big foyer on the top level. Up the other end of the building to the Countrylink check-in. Unless we decide to hold it somewhere else entirely.

Now to the important bits. What should we do? A few suggestions have been tossed around.

-Lasertag / bowling again (Darling Harbour)
-Paintball (Helensburg possibly? Prices to come.)
-Arcade (Above Paddy's Markets)
-Gaming (somewhere)
-Somehow getting something more awesome than the UK's shirts
-[insert your idea here]

For paintball there's going to be some organisation, a fair bit of cost and some significant lying-about-ages (but we won't mention that here, no no). I have no idea where we'd go to do this, as the only Paintball I know of is at Mt Keira in Wollongong.

I'd also like to get a list of people who're going. Even if you're currently uncertain, it's 6 months away, so put up a "Maybe".

Suggestions, comments, well-wishes etc. I will as ever be posting a reminder thread closer to the time to make sure everyone remembers. And sending out a bunch of PMs to anyone who hasn't ensured me they will be coming. I'm up for giving out my mobile to those attending who don't have it all ready in the case things go pear-shaped.

As I said in IRC, you may have missed it, there is a very decent chance that I will be able to make it to this one. I am attending something mid-November and finish school on the 1st of December. So take this response as a definite "maybe" to the possiblity of me being semi-certain of attending the undecided event.

So, one down for Shrodinger's Prefectimo.

I will try my best to attend this one. I said that last time though, so take that as you will. Let's hope nobody else invites me to an 18th on the same day. Even then, I might come anyway if it's in the evening. I'm not missing the third Escapism in a row, damnit!

It'll be starting in the morning, probably going until late afternoon. For me it's a matter of "How late can I catch a train?" Others stick around on occasion. The UKers hit pubs, for example.

Sounds interesting. I have no plans for the month so I might turn up.

Yeah I'll come along (as long as I still remember then). If you want to do paintball there is a really good one in penrith which is slightly closer then wollongong (but still ages upon ages away).

I would come, but I have a crippling fear of people.

Also, I don't think I could be bothered driving to Sydney from Adelaide.. sigh, I'm far too lazy.
Inverse Skies flew up last time. He was exhausted by the time he got home, but said it was entirely worth the trip. That kind of thing winds up being expensive, but not as much as driving.

You know what, put me down as maybe, I do live in Geelong (Victoria, for the unaware), but hell, I'll have finished exams, have turned 18, and (god-willing) will have my license by then. Therefore I propose a road trip from Melbourne for all Escapists down here in Victoria, who want to go, and have a little extra fun on the road...
I'm up for it, anyone else in the Vic region want in?
I know Yoshimota is interested already
I'm also looking at you, InverseSkies...

Heh, should've been clearer.
Last time, I would've been able to go to Escapism had the party been later. It was one that I couldn't miss. If this hypothetical second party that will keep me from THIS Escapism occurs, I'll still go to Escapism assuming the party is in the evening.

I sense this will become a yearly competition between different countries to prove their awesome-ness.

Anyway, have fun you guys.

We've already got you beat. We had the Sir Buttersworth War the first time, and the Ultrareveal the second.

In fact, beating ourselves looks to be the biggest issue here. Hmm.

Really? Could you get pricings and the like?

If you can get down to Melbourne, I'm going to try and organise a VIC (and I guess SA) road trip.
If I have my license by then...

All of this with Labyrinth's blessing, of course...

My car's on LPG and it lasts for AGES on long drives, so it would probably be cheaper to drive.

I'll think about it; might drag one of my friends who's used to meets and stuff along. So that I'm not completely alone.

I need darkness. WHERE'S MY DARKNESS.

P.S. If you get awesome shirts or something, could you send one out to me? xD
Actually we're pretty open to people just turning up without any real connection to those who are there. If you do want a bit of casual conversation I recommend hopping along to the Escapist IRC [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/chat] because there seems a disproportionate amount of Australians there.

I don't know.. those shirts are pretty exclusive.

Le woot, Road trip! (maybe)
Now to try and recruit some other Escapists from VIC + SA who would want to go up via automotive vehicle...
