I'll continue my long-standing tradition of saying I'll come with all the best intentions.

We'll see how that pans out.
As will I. I work on Saturdays but hell, I think I can rustle up a sudden 'illness' that'll leave me 'bedridden' for the day.
You know me and my generosity, Krunk, just give me an address and I can rustle you up a bed-binding condition for sure!

I'll fetch my trowel.

Dammit. Why do you Australians keep tempting me with your "general affability" and "willingness to meet cool people for laser tag" and "obviously superior organizational skills"? As if vegemite and kangaroos weren't enough! Every year you throw it in my face, that ineffable social amiability and laid back enthusiasm, you smug bastards.

Well No! Just because this is the third year in a row now you've decided to rub it in, No! I will not be joining you in Sydney on the second of July to partake in entertaining endeavors with a curious cast of characters! It's not that far a swim from where I live in ... The far south-west corner of the Pacific Ocean BUT, I will not be making it this year. So Ha! HAHAHA!

... take me with you...

Your jealousy is a fine wine made bitter by an equal wish to have you present. It would add immeasurably to the fun.

You know what's frightening? (BEARS! But apart from that.) I've actually made some remarkable financial progress over the last couple months. If you held this get-together the same time next year, I'd almost certainly be able to afford the plane ticket.

My subtely casual and completely non-commital way of saying, I might attending Escapism 2012. I've got to be in the area anyway. Ayers Rock is going to be an important battle ground when the Mayans return in their spaceships to cause the 2012 apocalypse.

Well! I most certainly intend to have one next year. Keep an eye out. For your benefit I'll even plan it several months in advance so you don't get screwed over trying to find an affordable ticket.

Just as planned..

You ... you would do that? For me? I-I don't know what to say. I ... (sniff) that's the nicest thing anybody's ever done for me. You've touched me in my heart place, the place where I keep my heart. I ... I -

&nbsp&nbspI'm going to say maybe for now, but that maybe seems to have turned into a no for the last 2 years. I hope not to make this a hattrick.

&nbsp&nbspOn the plus side I now own a car, and if I manage to have rego paid and maintain my unemployed status or could get the day off, if I somehow get a job, I should be in with a fighting chance. As usual don't bother thinking I will make it, but there is always the possibility.

Later events have included a gender bluff by a foremost user of the time, an epic war with another website carried out in the Laser Tag arena and the entire glorious carnival of amusement which was a zombie march.
I thought it was UltraJosephine for months. ;-;

But yeah, have fun. If I won the lottery, I'd so totally come.

I know you mourn your inability to make it to the others. Everyone does.

What do you mean, "Deal with it"? Deal with having been fooled, or... Oh GOD I'M SO CONFUSED AGAIN and you refuse to Skorgy, so I'll never know for sure.

...I can't handle posts containing Skeletor.

Dang, I think someone has a birthday then. I'll confirm that date though, I'm not sure. I'll get back to you.

Doooh. See, its stuff like that what gets me all teary-eyed.

I really am looking forward to coming down though. I've been playing around with the concept for as long as there have been Sydney Escapisms, if all the build up didn't result in something I'd feel like it was meaningless foreshadowing (gods dammit, I've been writing far too long.) I don't consider myself much of an Escapist anymore, what used to be my main recreation is now something I merely observe and occasionally dabble in, but I've had some great times on this site and a lot of the names I associate with those good times are australian. Being able to do a meet-and-greet of even a portion of those names is a satisfying concept.

One of the reasons I've wanted to travel internationally is to meet a whole bunch of awesome people off The Interwebs. Of course, being in Australia means I can summon many of them to me, but there are others who can't make it.

One day, there will be an Epic Escapist Convention. One day...

Okay people. I've added some information.

The first bit of the meeting will be at Central Railway Station at 10am. I'll be at the tables in the main foyer (upstairs near platforms 1-14) which are at the end near the bar and Hungry Jacks. I'll stick around there for about an hour, after which it's off to Net cafe we go. Latecomers can find us at the cafe itself.

Sounds like alot of fun, shame I can't go but props to all the other Sydney-siders on the escapist, have a good time for my sake.

Though I must call props once more for your choice of venue, I frequent the City Hunter in Chatswood myself (and have alot of fine LAN-fuelled memories of it).

So! I'm going to hand in the deposit next week so I need RSPVs!

If you haven't put your name down, do so. If you have put your name down, check your info and make sure you can turn up. Chances are there'll be a couple of seats spare in the LAN cafe, so there's no great panic if you're unsure, but I'd rather not book for 25 then have 10 show face.

It'll be fun! It'll be exciting! We can blow each other up and laugh about it all the while!

You know you want to.
