Success!

The very first Escapism Toronto was today, and it was, over-all, a smashing success!
The Playdium was a good choice for our first meet up, and I think great fun was had by all!

And now, of course...the pictures!

Here is, from left to right: AC10, JRCB, Carbonel, and Asturiel!

Our mascot for the day: A piece of bristol board with a crudely drawn unhappy face.
It was legendary.

Here is Baby Tea (Left) and Asturiel (Right) trying to play Guitar Hero.
Let me say, for the record, that setting that thing up to do two player is a huge pain in the ass.

Carbonel seems to be getting a little too into Time Crisis.
AC10 is the right type of happy. The normal type.

JRCB tries to imitate our mascot. Fail.
Asturiel in the background does a creepy photobomb. Win.
And we are joined by Hashime!

Everyone seated and strapped in for the big, 6 player Indy 500 race!
I didn't win, so let's not discuss it any further. Jerks.

Hashime (Barely seen) and Asturiel attempt the 'angle' style of DDR. It was hilarious to watch.

This was JRCB and Carbonel also doing something hilarious: Playing a rally car game where the other cars fly around the track, through the floor, and just randomly appear all over the place. You have had to see it to truly understand how hilarious this was.

This was another glitch that was hilarious! AC10's steering didn't work (He could turn right, but not left). The race was boring in comparison to AC10's frustration and consistent crashing (And surprisingly good drifting).

Glitches were everywhere, it seems. AC10 and I attempted to play some Tekken 5.
Turns out his Joystick didn't work. And my attack buttons didn't work. The rounds were interesting, if brief.

JRCB and Carbonel playing outrun two player. Apparently if you crash, or just generally suck, the driving control switches to the other player. There was a great deal of switching. It was hilarious.

Here is Baby Tea attempting the batting cages. The pitches were coming in at my freaking knee.
I wish I was joking. It felt like golf!

Asturiel has the right idea, taking the 'squat' approach.

GO KARTS! Here is Carbonel operating his very first motor vehicle. Aww...they grow up so fast!

Here is Baby Tea giving the fruitiest 'WOO!' ever, apparently. I blame the photographer.

Asturiel Behind the wheel. He was all business.

The whole group at Boston Pizza! With our awesome mascot!
Big thanks and shout out to David, the great waiter who took the picture! Woo!

That's all I've got! There were more pictures taken, but I picked the best out of my group.
Asturiel might have more!

Big thanks to AC10, Hashime, Carbonel, JRCB, and Asturiel for coming out!
Great day, guys! Next year will have to be better, somehow!

I would most definitely be in for this, but it really depends on when it is.
I can try my best to make it!

I'd love to go, but I can't travel to Toronto this year. If it was in Calgary, I'd definitely be in. :)

I also totally forgot about a place to meet: Canada's Wonderland.
DUH.

So THAT would be a blast! Escapism at a theme park!
Ehh? Any other Canucks interested? I need the feedback if this is going to happen.

I'm not anywhere near Canada, but I felt generous so here's a free bump. I'll have to charge for future ones though...

Good luck arranging this, and if it happens, have a good time. And how can you not if you go go-karting? All English Escapismers get is paintballing apparently ;)

You beat me to this, I've wanted an Escapism: "Canada anything" for a while, yes I will want to come. If it hadn't been for this I would have tried to do this and failed, so thank you.

Wonderland would be a splendid place, I thoroughly support this even if it is just like 3-5 people. If we start doing it the numbers will follow!

For the peoples, this usergroup shall be useful for determining people who can go for sure. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Escapism-Toronto?created=1&forcewrite=1]

I'd need dates before I could seriously commit to something. My bosses are real ****s when it comes to asking for time off work

Not Canadian, but I've been planning on going to Canada for a week early next year (for one reason or another). I'd happily book around the time of an event... whatever that is worth to discussion?

Shoot, I'd have to check the travel rates. Nova Scotia to Toronto can be expensive. But at least I don't have to worry about work schedules or anything like that...

I live on the other side of Canada and don't have bus-fare to get there. Though I wish I could be there with you guys; I bet it'll be awesome.

Argghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Why do I have to waste my time here to find a job?!?!?!?

I'm sorry, but I'll have to sit this one out. If you ever make one in Montreal during the Springbreak or something, give me a call!

EDITED note* No photos for IBM or Neonbob.

Sounds like fun.

I'd like to go, but have no way to get there.
And I live so close!
