I haven't been unemployed since I started working when I was 15.
Changed jobs, sure, but never unemployed. Well, never for more then a week or so.

Currently employed in my career of choice: Radio Broadcasting! And it's awesome!

Still got my 2 jobs besides university. yay.. but i'm looking for a single one to replace both. The drive from one to another is a real timekiller = less money

I am lucky enough to still have my Paper round. 100 of us were layed off in the midlands and my friend was one of them.

Calumon: ...It is very hard to take that seriously if your gonna talk about delivering newspapers.
I managed to keep my delivery job. Best thing about delivering the Sunday papers is that no-one else wants to do it, and there's not enough of us as it is. We just got a wage cut instead, which we can live with, because we knw hey had been overpaying us.

I just became re-employed. I am now a games tester at a freelance company called Babel Media. I usually don't work during the academic year, but I think I will be able to continue this job into the academic year, moving from full to part time in that way, which I think I'll do. It's a decent enough gig and I'll be getting plenty of payed overtime with this job, so I'll be making decent money this summer.

Edit: for the record, I don't think luck has really anything do to with being employed. It's on you to make sure you get a job.

Yeah, with people buying less or not wasting as much. I wouldn't be suprised to see rats tackling groups of people and resorting to cannibalism lol

I'm a chef which means I'm always employed, and when I lose this job I'm fairly certain somebody else is looking to hire someone to work 60 hours a week for next to nothing. Everybody needs to eat. Besides if I didn't have a job I'd be a criminal (which is a job in a sense), not everybody has the luxury of being unemployed.

Just out of my freshman year at uni, and badly in need of employment. Doesn't help that my state's suffering from incredibly high unemployment right now...it's difficult to compete with a MBA when applying for a job at Starbucks.

the only problems are the people that come looking for the food.
one old, balding, fat, sweaty guy at my office comes over to the spread, sticks his face uncomfortably close to the food and sniffs at it like a feral mutant rodent.
EDIT: he then: 70% wanders away, 30% sticks his gross hands in the food and takes some.

Seeing as i live in notts, i can give you a bit of a heads up. As far as i'm aware my local swimming baths is looking for a life guard (i maybe wrong, its fairly old news) But bar work in nottingham shouldnt be too bad, Maybe easier in night clubs then actual pubs. Depends on what your after mate :)

O.O ewe, sorry to hear, worst that happens here is the cream cheese is just left out but it's generally finished before it has time to go bad.

Also aside from Mondays the rest of the week is generally pretty relaxed with like 2-5 minute intervals between calls and they just tend to all be refunds.
