Well, it's official - I am finally done with university! 3 years of toil, sweat and blood booze, booze and uhh... English Literature and not ten minutes ago I handed in my dissertation and am now, pending graduation in June, done with my degree! Perhaps needless to say, I'm pretty chipper about it. Not only that, I wrote my dissertation on one of my favourite video games, Spec Ops: The Line which was a blast, if only slightly galling given that my department here in York, UK is veeeery old-fashioned. But whatever! Better yet, it's gorgeous out so I'm sitting out in the sun with snus and a beer, fully prepared to do nothing else today. Also, I can finally get back onto here properly for the first time in months. Fantastic!

So, cast away your gloomy pallor and tell me, what's cheered you up today? What's made you smile, laugh, sing, dance, shout with joy or however else you express good feeling? Let's have a nice cheery thread here!

As I'm British, it is hard for me to enter this discussion without an element of sarcasm, but I will try my darnedest.

I am two days away from finishing my part-time college assignments and soon this will mean I gain my Wednesdays back (as I currently work 8:30am-10:00pm on these days!), so looking forward to that!

In the meantime, I have taken a big step towards beating a personal health problem in the last couple of days, which has left me rather chirpy!

So that is my current celebration and one imminent too.

It's a truly lovely day today so I'm going to reward myself with a kebab. There's nothing quite like a carton of greasy junk food to really enrich a day.

I very recently consummated my love with several Escapists in the eyes of our lord Kross. I'm also done with the working week for the moment. My fingers are still working pretty good and it's a really beamin' day outside.

Damn, I really should go out (onto the internet) and see if I can pick up a copy of Command and Conquer Generals: Zero Hour. I'm listening to the soundtrack right now and it's the bomb.[footnote]Infidels. Jihad.[/footnote]

Knowing that I get two days off from tomorrow and get to go to my martial arts class. Yay!

Also OP, congrats on finishing uni. Now you can go get drunk all the time, because you obviously didn't have any time for that while you were there. :D

And I cracked up and laughed for a good few minutes. He meant to say 'ForeWay' (a company we cooperate with).

Well my ecological engineering class today turned from a discussion about whether you should view economy and ecology separately or together into a full blown debate on the issues of renewable vs non-renewable energy forms of energy... I'm showing my nerdy/treehugging side again aren't I? Anyway, it was really fun cuz we had very strong opinions being thrown back and forth. The lecturer was loving it, he was encouraging us strongly.

Other than that... well since I got home I've been listening to the Durarara and Future Diary theme songs on repeat, they're pretty damn awesome.

My sister has introduced me to this incredible tea cafe in London with dozens of gorgeous blends of tea, and I'm currently sitting there reading a really interesting book about whales (my passion). It's also a fabulously sunny day. Life is good right now :)

So for my birthday today (yup, aready cheered up), yesterday (early gift) my best friend offered to take me to go see Godzilla.

So yeah Godzilla, was super Godzilla and I like when Godzilla did Godzilla things to everything that's not Godzilla...

...I really thoroughly enjoyed it. Godzilla.

So far that would be hearing this song on the radio.
Otherwise my morning has kind of sucked.

Knowing that I got out of school at lot earlier than the rest of y'all made me pretty happy. Otherwise, just hanging out a home is pretty nice.

The realization that no matter what happens to me in the future, I will have friends. It might not sound like that much, but to someone that has gone through the majority of his life alone, it is very comforting.

Besides that, not much. The day is still young here, and who knows what else may happen between now and the end of the day?

My cat Jezebel had her kittens this weekend, so now I have four little fuzzy bundles of cute in the hall closet. I got out of work early and the first thing I did when I came home was pet them.

I know they can't be fuzzy little bundles of cute forever, so I'll enjoy it while I can.

Errrr....the day has been relatively boring....

Oh! I know, I acquired yesterday's episode of Game of Thrones and I am eagerly waiting to get off work to watch. That definitely cheered me up a bit.

My Escapist guildies are coming back to FFXIV!

I'm pretty stoked to go back to doing party content with people that I trust.

When I left my girlfriend's flat, I looked out when I got onto the street and she was at the window and waved back.

On Empire Total War, I started a war with the Ottoman Empire and a small weak army managed to take on the Barbary States capital despite the battle going completely against me and thank god cannons can move and have cannister shot.

A copy of a limited edition book arrived today, that was nice.

Well, I'm a fanfic writer, and I woke up to two positive new responses on my tumblr to an idea I proposed, two new pieces of fanart from my readers, and a bunch of reviews. That was certainly starting the day on a good note. :D
