So yeah, I hate her with all my heart, and I actually don't find her very attractive but maybe it's just my mind averting her true image so it would suit my opinion of her.

I think she has a decent enough voice, and some of her music is fine by me.

OT: Don't see any reason to dislike her. She makes music that I don't mind, ranges from inoffensive to Ok for me. If she was mega popular I'd understand disliking her in the Moviebob sense that she's taking money that could be spent on 'better' musicians (not that I agree with him) but she's not mega popular, in the UK at least.
I also find Russell Brand to be a funny guy, less so his stand up but I like(d) his radio show and movie appearances as well as his TV work. I just don't think he's as clever as he thinks he is, and says stupid things at times.

I'm not a fan of her music, and in all the pictures and videos people post of her to show that "OMG SHE'S TEH HOTNESS", I've never found her all that attractive either. I mean yes whoopee, she has okay breasts. So do a lot of other woman who are also far more attractive in other aspects of their appearance than Perry.
Or maybe I'm just blinded by knowing that she's been with Russell Brand. Yuck.

The same reason people like Queen, Beatles, Lady Gaga, Avenged Sevenfold or Justin Bieber. They like the music.
I didn't want to like Katy Perry. But I couldn't help it after I saw her live and she actually could sing. It disappointed me because at all the awards shows I'd seen televised, her live vocals weren't great. Then she had to go and actually be good.
Her songs are catchy, I love her complete self-awareness of kitsch, cutesy bullshit, and the fact that she just has fun with ehr career. Those whipped-cream-boobs were so ridiculously trashy that I can't hate them, I can only shake my head and go, "ahh, Katy..." Plus, if you look up some of her early stuff on youtube, and SXSW acoustic performances and stuff, well that's another thing that hooked me in.
Regarding Russel Brand - look up some of his standup if you haven't seen it. He' really intelligent, very switched on, he has a very sharp wit that isn't all to do with come-ons. He's crafted this persona really well so people don't expect it when he comes out with something really sharp.

Well, what's wrong with liking her? Some people like her music, some her looks, and some like both. You could ask the same thing about Lady Gaga or Rihannah, or books, or games or films.
