The pilots of the other Evas, and the collection of gawking scientists clustered into the Command Central could vaguely make out a noise. It was low, and difficult to decipher, though a few may have picked it out for what it was: gurgling. In the gory show that Piggy displayed, the spotlight had been removed from the equally agonizing fate of his older compatriot. As the great Angel, a being of a million specks forced its way around the chubby boy and his beast, Rev and his were picked up from the earth. One hundred thousand bugs, maybe more on each arm conglomerated into singular entities. They pushed up, departing from the ground below with their martyr.
They pulled the Eva taught. Rev felt his arms twisted as they were pulled out horizontally from his body. His legs dangled in the air, their immense strength useless in this situation. Then, another swarm descended. A pair of forceps, at least in the eyes of Rev swooped down and smashed itself into the Eva's teeth. Though the twilight beast struggled to clamp its jaws shut, the force of the Angel was greater. Its mouth was opened wide, and Rev's did the same. In moments, thousands of the tiny insects piled into the beast's maw and down its throat. And there they began to spin.
Like an array of blades they spun, tearing and gnashing at the esophagus of the Eva. A pitiful roar, whether a cry of defiance or a pained cry for help drifted up from the cacophony within the beast's throat. And at the same moment Rev felt a pain a thousand times worse than any he could have imagined. Tears streamed down his face as he attempted to scream. But he was unable to. The Angel had him in its grip. And there was nothing he could do.
"No."
He did not speak, but his words rang true. His Eva felt it; an odd reverberation chimed through his... not his body. His soul? In a moment of revelation, the tears stopped as Rev pondered. Had the Angel heard him too.
"NO." he stated again. To what end he did not know, but he felt something. A welling in the pit of his stomach, separate from the insects tearing away at him. His mind began to cloud. A pricking in his head grew strong and loud, until it was an unbearable roar. At long last, he could hold it in no more. His jaw moved, and a scream erupted from within.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
The Eva roared, its darkened maw spewing forth a fountain of blood, inside of it the drowning bodies of a hundred thousand insects. Its eyes were as red as its blood.
"90% synchronization! It's berserking!"
The Eva ripped its arms forwards, the insects scattering apart along with bits of flesh and armor. Rev fell to the earth, impacting with the kinetic force of a cluster of bunker busters. But the Eva absorbed the impact into its legs, crouching before leaping into the sky once more. Rev had promised that he would not jump again; he had made no promises on what his Eva chose to do.
When they finally landed, the distance traveled seemed to nearly be measurable by kilometers. It had barely touched ground before it began sprinting, the umbilical cord barely keeping up with the strain without tearing itself apart. By now most of the Angel had gained a considerable distance on it and Rev, but that gap was closed quickly. With another leap, they came crashing down from above. The AT Field of the Angel was in its path, but they seemed to care little. Their hands moved as one, striking down with ferocity as they attempted to shred the field away.
In his mind, Rev felt the pressure of the Eva bear down on him like a weight, crushing him underneath its burden. He pushed back, but no tidal wave came; he was trapped underneath. He grew flatter, pressed deeper underneath the force, but he knew what would happen if he became entirely flat. He focused himself, he remembered what little training he had had. He would not let the Eva take complete control.
"Find Core. Kill Angel. Save friends."
He gave the orders. He would not be a pawn. He was the pilot, and the machine would do what he said. It had to.
"Find Core. Kill Angel. Save friends."
He repeated it, again and again. The rage did not lessen, but he felt it sharpen. It had direction, it had focus, or at least he hoped so. The pressure rang in reverberation with his thoughts, until they resonated as one.
"FIND CORE. KILL ANGEL. SAVE FRIENDS."

Sorry if I'm going a little overboard with berserking second post, but I figured a berserker with 3 months of training isn't likely to keep cool for long.
