In 5th grade there were 2 assholes in my class that were supposed to be the "tough" guys. They picked on anybody they thought was weaker than they and due to the fact that there were 2 of them the head of the year would always believe them(It was a bad school). I rarely ever fought but one 10 minute break they got on my nerves. I lunged and grabbed the nearest member of the pack, got him up against the wall, lifted him and told him that if he'd ever harass me again I'd gouge his eyes out using a screwdriver. I managed to catch the other one on his way home. I gave him a good kicking. They never dared get near me again.

In 7th grade there was another asshole who kept spitting on me, make fun of me, hit me and generally harass me. I managed to catch him when he was going home and beat the living shit out of him. 2 months later he barely even dared to say hello in my presence.

There were cases where I'd be bullied and simply didn't fight back due to not being able to. I'm guessing that's what 'caused me to participate in bullying myself. I ended up fighting the guy the class was bullying. After about 2 minutes of exchanging punches and half a minute of attempting to strangle him after headlocking his head I looked around and saw only animals attempting to incite violence. I stopped, went outside of the class with him and apologized. We weren't exactly friends after but we never ended up as low as before.

High School wasn't exactly smooth sailing(there was the occasional asshole) but giving that I knew the majority of the tough guys in the high school I ended up at it was mostly OK.

So, share here your experiences with bullies and being bullied. What happened, how did you react and what did you do??

I was in Kindergarten. I was beaten up weekly by some kid that I can't even remember the name of. He ended up getting expelled, in kindergarten, after only a few weeks. I didn't really have to do anything.

Not physically. Verbally a bit, I get a bus to school and certain people on the bus were and are complete dicks to me and most people. I've learnt how to deal with it now, and they've stopped.

The first time I was ever bullied was in middle school when some big kid shoved me away from the water fountain while I was drinking. I was baffled. I got pissed and started shoving him, but he was big and had some friends with him, so I dipped. Plus he was black, so as a little white boy I was at a clear disadvantage in a fight.

A few weeks later when we were in gym and outside doing pull-ups for the fitness test, he started messing with me again so I picked up a big tree branch and threw it at him, not really intending to hurt him so much as get him to back off or whatever. But it hit him in the mouth and knocked out one of his teeth.

I barely got in any trouble and he had to have a root-canal. My parents acted like they were mad at me because they had to pay for the dental work, but that blew over quickly.

Managed to get through middle school without any noteworthy bullying events (except for a punk who tried to steal some of my yu-gi-oh cards, but I had my crew with me that time so we got them back). My high school was way more chill-- it was a charter school so I guess rules were slightly stricter. I never had any enemies there and bullying didn't seem to be a problem.

I was mostly called gay, and pushed around by the older kids and the bigger kids when i was in school. At first it bothered me, then i realized I either had to lie down and deal or cowboy up and deal. So at first i went it out and just said I'm not, then started laughing.

Yeah, there's nothing that throws someone off more then when you just start laughing at yourself while they're laughing at you. Gives you a good sense of humour too.

I broke someones wrist by slaming into in my locker door when he told my adoptions are failed abortions for people to drugged to care. I'm adopted so needless to say i wasn't exactly happy with that. Other then him also ragging on about how my then girlfriend now wife was a whore didn't help his case. We had a few scrapes after that too. I also fought someone in the middle of class cause he threw his binder at my head in the middle of class and the teacher did nothing. Thats my top two.

I've never been directly bullied, but my brother has. Some idiot in his form put one of those DT knives to his throat, I can't remember their name but we found out last year or something that both him and his mother have been put in prison for selling drugs, hah. Anyway, my brother told me that if anyone attempts to bully me or violently harass me, just tell them to fuck off or fight back, because everyone in school is a weak little shit really, they only look threatening because you're their age and you don't know any better, nobody knows how to fight, some little twats just grow up knowing how to sound intimidating.. so I took his advice. Someone tried to cut in front of me so I decked his head off the corner of a wall, someone poured milkshake on me so I punched him in the face, some cocky prick thought he was some kind of King and tried to "happy slap" me, so I threw his phone at a wall and spat on him.

I'm not bragging, and thinking about it I reacted over the top in probably every instance. I didn't know how to fight, neither did they, I just refused to be bullied because I was luckily told by someone who experienced it that everyone in high school, and the majority of children aged 11-16, are cunts. Also, the very fact that someone tried to bully me pissed me off, like they picked me because I looked like an easy victim or something, that added to the infuriation of getting milkshake poured on me and, at that moment in time, I fucking wanted to smack that little prick in his face just out of principle.

I served as their ***** for a few years. Eventually I got to snapping points. Choked my "friend" in China Town once. I wont go into details though. It was unpleasant.

I used to get bullied a lot for the first 2 or 3 years of secondary school.
I just disregarded it but i got too much and I told my mum, who told my bully's mum. Now I know that his mother is incontinent and I have the upper hand.

Then a bully tried to pick on me a couple of years ago but i fought him and won.

gonna finish this off since it's already in a spoiler tag, may as well make it tl;dr, right?

I've always had a pretty bad violent streak, which I attribute to my parents getting divorced when I was 4... I used to get picked on a lot, but I never stood for it. I never backed down from a fight, and I always did what I could to come out showing less blood...

around second grade my teachers were "a little concerned" about my psychological well-being, so they sent me to see a counselor every day... didn't end up helping, got into another fight because some kid stole my jacket, I chased him down, grabbed the jacket and whipped him in the face with it. So I got expelled in 2nd grade, moved to a different school, and did my best to stop fighting people.

Worked until high school, where I met this annoying little twerp named Devin... had a voice like mickey mouse after a vasectomy and would. not. shut. UP! He knew his voice was like nails on a chalkboard to me, and made it a point to constantly try to engage me in long conversations, when he realized that wasn't pushing my buttons hard enough, he started looking for me at lunch, trying to bug me there.

It was around that time he started getting the idea that the only way to get the attention he wanted was to physically instigate it, so he started throwing shit at me. I always hung out with a group of friends at lunch, and if there's one thing I still can't stand it's losing face in front of my friends, so I told him, as calmly as I could at that point "Look, Devin, get out of here or, I swear to you, I'll make your voice a few octaves higher and your face a little bloodier."

He threw a carton of milk at me, so... true to my word, I jumped over the fence that was separating us, knee'd him in the groin and headbutted him. It was over before there was even the requisite crowd of morons chanting "fight fight fight" and I just walked off.

Turns out that wasn't enough for him, and he didn't go to any kind of authority, so I didn't get punished for it. Three days later, I was walking through the halls, on my way to woodshop, and the son of a ***** body-checks me into a wall and runs off, yelling "haha, gotcha!"

I was carrying my backpack like I always do, just slung over my right shoulder, so I dropped it to my elbow and used the momentum to fling it at him like a cannon... turns out I missed a little, it ended up going low and ahead, but he tripped over it and skid a good 3 feet on concrete, I walked over, kicked him in the side and said "gotcha." picked up my backpack and walked off.

My final bout of rage centered on this little bastard was actually during a class... we were in English (the only class we shared, thank god), and he started in on me again, I don't remember what it was about, but, as he was walking over to me, I noticed his fat little ass waddled, like a penguin. Well, hatred and cruelty go hand in hand... so I decided to start making fun of him for that, "waddle waddle waddle"
"... shut up."
"oh, did I hit a nerve? waddle waddle waddle!"
"shut up now, I'm warning you"
Around that time, our teacher said we were moving to the computer lab for the rest of the period, so we all gathered up our stuff and started heading out the door, I turned around and said "Hey, Devin, don't dawdle, waddle!"

Most of the class and the teacher were already well ahead of us by now, and any time I said "waddle" he pushed me, like... physically. I never could pin down what it is about being pushed that irks me so much... but around the third time he did it, I grabbed the back of his head and slammed his face into a set of lockers repeatedly.

After that, I never saw him again, I think he transferred schools or at least classes... but ya know what? He had it coming, imo.

I have. forth grade.

I kinda just lived with it. I mean the stupid kid couldn't read so I go a chuckle out of that. And he got expelled eventually. And now that I'm older and wiser and stronger, I don't let them get control of me. I tell them to fucking cut it out. In a threating manor you see. That way they actually stop

For some strange and honestly scary reason nothing makes me calmer or laugh as much as other peoples anger. On xbox live sometimes my friends, if the mood takes them ,can be pricks, i just show extreme apathy to piss them off and it leaves me in stitches. I am more than likely going to be beaten up one day for this but when someone shows aggression toward me it makes me break out in uncontrollable laughter. According to my friends this is going to lead to some nasty pub situations. I just laugh in the face of pig headed aggression, it sets me off and i dont for teh life of me know why. Works to dissuade them though, makes them angry beyond belief.

"WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU LAUGHING?!"
"This is hilarious, or am i the only one to appreciate the humor?"

Well, I've never had anyone "bully" me, but there have always been people who decide to try to taunt me. Last year a group of first-years, averaging about 5'6" and ~110lbs each decided they were going to make fun of me every day during lunch break for being "nerdy." Incredibly stupid because I'm 6'3" and ~240lbs. Well, after a couple of weeks of ignoring them I started to get tired of it. One day after they walked past me and up a stairwell I could hear them hanging out and continuing to make poor attempts at insulting my friends and I, so I calmly walked around, came up from behind them and choked the "leader" on a railing until his friends promised to never give me trouble again.
I have a few other stories, but they're even longer and generally end in the same way.
