Psychonauts is the only one hat comes to mind. It was good, but not enough to validate the crippling pain he made me go through for not buying it. As a game, it sucked, as an adventure, it was awesome.

Other than that, the orange box, more or less, but I reall just bought that for Half-Life. Portal and TF was just a plus.

I bought Painkiller thanks to him.
All I really needed to know is that there was a gun that could shoot shurikens and lightning...

No, I'm capable of forming my own opinions on things.
Thank you, I hate all these people who constantly bow at Yatzhee`s feet whenever he reviews something and then depending on the review decide to buy it or not
Yes BUT if it can get his approval then its got to be good.
That is true cause you know, he hates everything

I usually just watch Zero Punctuation for the entertainment value and not the actual reviews....however there are 2 games that I bought from watching ZP, 1. Saints Row 2 and 2. Mercenaries 2.....I bought both of them because he made them sound fun, Saints Row because he actually said was fun and Mercenaries 2 because how he described the game made my interest shoot up and made me want to go play it, and both purchases made me very happy.

Yahtzee led me to Saint's Row 2. I thank him every day for that.
In person? Or do you just give him a call or email him everyday?

:D

I am actually the same though. I saw Saints Row 2 on sale when I first brought my PS3 and brought it as one of my first games because of his video on it. Otherwise I would've have probably just ignored it.

I actually use a very complex and methodical approach to buying video games which is kinda similar to the rating system on RottenTomatoes. I'll go to 10 or so review sites and average out the reviewer and player scores for the game, and I generally give preference to the player scores. After that, if there is a review on ZP for it, I'll listen to Yahtzee's gripes and see if they are what I consider "game breaking". If not, and the average scores are above 7/10, I'll usually buy it.

Typically, I never go on the opinion of one reviewer or gamer and I ALWAYS wait a few weeks on new releases. The last time I bought a game based on early hype was Mass Effect and I learned my lesson quickly.

Saints Row 2. It was going for cheap and I would of normally of passed it over but I remembered Yahtzee's review and thought why the hell not? Did I enjoy it? Well I didn't play a single other game until I'd completed it. You be the judge.

He really makes interesting comments and valid points about the games but they don't make the game bad and you have to make your own decision about a game. I hardly buy any games , he didn't recommend Modern Warfare 2 but I don't regret buying it !

I felt like a sandboxer and picked up Saints Row 2 because of the good things I've heard.

I didn't like it that much, didn't finish it. I'm replaying GTA4 though. I like that game a lot, once I get used to the controls again.

Yahtzees reviews are entertaining but hardly good source to base decisions whether or not to buy the game.

No unless Yahtzee say's a game is good then I know it will be great because Yahtzee's nitpick's EVERYTHING(But almost every game yahtzee has said is good I have already got).

Why would you watch Yahtzee's review's to buy a game he hates most thing's in life(even good games somtimes).

But I mainly get games on my own preferences not some elses.

Nope.

Except maybe TF2, but even then, that was due to a variety of factors.

Really, i take his viewpoint into account, but i watch most of his reviews for laughs, and never really take it seriously.
