Ever bought a game you never heard of and end up with a new favourite game

Resident Evil 5.
Never played a Resi game before (yeah I know, burn me etc.) and ended up really loving it after a friend bought me it out of the blue. Played co-op with him for hours on it.

If you've got a Wii I HIGHLY recommend Res Evil 4 Wii Edition. IMHO, the control scheme does AMAZING things for that game.

It really does. That was the one wii game that managed to suck 20+ hours away from me.

Jak 2. I had heard about Jak a long time ago, like 7 years before, and thought I would buy it.

It still counts as unheard of since in 1997 the Jak and Daxter franchise wasn't even concidered by Naughty Dog.

Well I wouldn't say I ended up with new favorites, but I bought Arcanum on a whim when I'd never heard of it before and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, I bought it on the recommendation of an EB Games employee when I went in there to buy a different game, prior to that I'd never heard of the Star Ocean series. Glad I did, I loved that game, played through it several times, might just pick it up again since I can't afford to spare any cash for new games ATM.

Legend Of Mana . Still play it emulated on my computer all the time. Every friend I've gotten to play it with me falls in love with it. Not many people heard of legend given psx. But it was awesome, I just had it handed to me.

Star Wars: Tie Fighter

You haven't played Star Wars until you've disabled a mon cal cruiser using only a TIE interceptor.

I really wish Lucasarts would get a clue and develop another game in this series.

They really are the pinnacle of Star Wars gaming.

For Christmas when I was 10 I got Kingdom Hearts. I love it!

SSX Tricky, god damn i loved that game. I went around looking for my first game to get with my new PS2 as a 5 year old ( i think, im 14 now so you can figure it out), I found and 'E' game called SSX Tricky. It looked cool so i got it, I swear I got almost as much hours out of that then with TF2, of course this is when i combine SSX Tricky with SSX 3, my favorite ps2 game.

I picked up a copy of Monster Hunter Freedom on account of its boxart and loved it. I now have all 3 games of that series on the PSP.

The only time that this really worked out for me was with Vagrant Story for the PS1.

Saint's Row 2, I had never heard of until Yahtzee and a friend made mention of it. FUCKING LOVE IT.

And... Morrowind was awesome as a fantasy alternative since I HATE the FF series.

Yeah Saint's Row 2 That game is FUCKING AWESOME! Seriously I had so much fun with it I was thinking it was illegal. I'm at 93% and have played for 40 hours! The variety, colour, humour is fantastic! I loved every second of it and is now on my top five of 5 games of all time I strongly recommend SR2 to anyone who's looking for a game that's FUN. Remember fun? Ah yeah SR2 ftw!

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth was very interesting. Even if the plot goes idiotic at the end.
