3 games. Diablo, Fallout, and Fallout 2. I bought the fallout games at the same time because somebody told me they were excellent. I bought Diablo simply based on the box art.

No, I thoroughly research every game before purchase, to ensure that I don't need to return it.

Dynasty warriors 4

Dont judge me.
Dynasty Warriors 3. Don't judge me either. Also you thought Zhang-He was gay in the 4th one? Man you should see him in 3.

"we will counter them with a beautiful attack of our own..."

He actually makes He-Man look straight. (Not really)
Oh Zhang He, you CHARACTER you :)

You wanna talk about Ambigously camp characters. then lets talk about Liu Bei, Guan yu, and Zhang Fei. (three grown men, swearing an oath of loyalty to one another. in a garden. a pink garden.] Wu had the coolest officers...man, I still wish I had my Ps2

I dont know if this counts but I rented Disgaea when it first came out, then a day after I returned it I went out and bought it. All I knew about the game when I picked it up was "Hey this looks like final fantasy tactics but better" and boy was I right.

Lego Indy.. GF got me to play it and loved it. Before that i just dismissed lego games as trash

Plus I buy those budget PC games all the time (the ones that are like $5-10 each and are buy 2 get one free) Most of them are fantastic.

Advance Wars. Damn freaking amazing. Now I have all of the games released after it and all are awesome. Even the newest one which is rather annoying is still an amazing game.

EDIT: just noticed that Old thread is old... I apologize for bump.

While it probably proves I go about with my head in the sand, I had never heard of Dragon Age: Origins until a week before it released. The bioware label and "spritual successor to Baldur's Gate" was all I needed to know to buy the game. It has recently unseated my previous favorite game, Deus Ex.
