Pretty much half the crap that's clogging up my room is made up of buys made on impulse. I do like a lot of them but there are some that make me just scratch my head as to why I even thought I would like it in the long run.

In terms of games, I can't count how many times I've paid full price for a game and just never played it enough to be worth the $60+ investment.

Now I only buy games on steam, and ONLY when they're on sale. Its pretty hard to NOT get $5 of enjoyment out of a game, even if it is awful.

Rainbow six: Covert ops: essentials, that was the first and the last thing I bought with the name "Tom Clancy" on it.

Years ago I took a cruise for the first time. After a late lunch and some cocktails, my wife and I went to an Art Auction just to see what it was all about. Had no intention of buying, but I decided to bid once - ONCE - on an impulse knowing I'd be overbid. Just so I could say I bid on something. Yeah, that was a $350 thrill I'll never repeat...

Still haven't framed my beautiful new Thomas Kinkade yet. :p

Yes, all the time. I cannot hold on to money... It's always "Ohh, shiny! Must buy! ... What is it again?"

Tom clancies end war. Is like glorified rock paper scissors with a symbol that only works if played in a certain way that beats everything. It is then beatable by another sign that fails at everything else.

Copters beat tanks
tanks beat aa
aa beats copters
engies beat everything when in cover but fail miserably everywhere else
riflemen capture stuff and kill engies sometimes even if in cover but fail at everything else

Artillery kills everything but copters from afar in sure awsome ownage till it gets hit by a riflemans shoe and explodes.

Yep... this sounds good? If only i knew this was what the gameplay boils down too.voice recognition? It recognises your voice well, but god forbid if you use the wrong word. I once wanted riflemen to take out some engies who were wning my stuff. It has never been wrong before when i said riflemen. I said "infantry" and it called in some copters to die for no reason. yay... or not. I ended up sending the infantry to their deaths on purpose at one point because the game gifted me with tanks and AA.... and then sent lots of tanks after me. It outnumbered my tanks and owned my aa. I had to kill my riflemen to make room for copters. DAMN YOU ROCK PAPER SCISSORS

That box of rabid badgers...

Edit: OK nothing really. I don't generally do impulse buying being a student and all. The only thing I can think of like that is Vodka Trebbles in my local.
I want a box of rabid badgers!

I always bought games on impulse for my ps2, but surprisingly I always enjoyed them.
However, I did impulse buy Halo 3, because of how hyped it was. I played some of the singleplayer, tried the multiplayer, and eventually gave it away.

My god.. This thread. It's almost like a sign. I'm in a crazy impulsive buying spree now and I think I'm a little addictive :S Bought Prince of Persia, Spiderman: Web of Shadows, Splinter Cell: Double Agent, NBA Live 08, Kane and Lynch:Dead Men and Red Faction Guerilla all impulsive, all super cheap, all for the PS3. But I don't like NBA and Double Agent lags to much. Prince of Persia was meh, beautiful game, wonderful music but too damn easy :( Don't even get my started on Kane and Lynch.

A tip to anyone who sees a really cheap game! Ask your self this: "If I could only buy one game this year, would this be it?" If not or a meh, THEN DON'T! Save the money and buy a good game instead, you know a game you're actually interested in. Trust me it ain't worth it. Now I've gotta go and restrain my self to a chair and ask my mom to feed me
what did you think of red faction?

Not recently actually, this used to happen more when I was younger, now my purchases are more considered and generally more expensive.

I bought this wooden sculpture once, thankfully I almost bought a bigger one and I'm well glad I didn't.

The time when I first bought my Xbox 360, and when I first bought my PS3. I'd buy them, but when I'd go home and take them out of the box and set them up, I'd relize that there weren't any damn games. Never again will I buy a console on release day.

Like a lot of others, I tend to by clothes that look great and cool in the store, only to think they're utter crap when I get them home. Sometimes I catch on fast enough to return them, other times they get shoved to the bottom of the drawer or hung in the dark corner of the closet so I forget about them until I run out of hangers. I recently took a load over to Goodwill which included such gems as a violently orange sweatshirt (I think I had just seen Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, but still), a skirt that had always been way, way too short, a very sack-like teal peasant shirt, and the ugliest multi-colored scarf you've ever seen in your life. I don't know WHY I bought half this crap, but I did. And now I have to refrain from going to Macy's or Lucky or Anthropologie, or buy more stuff. Some cute, some...not.

That sounds awesome, I want ^_^ (to match my other leopard print stuff)

On topic though, a product made famous by sex and the city .....
