Nope.

Sometimes I lose interest in individual games that I've been playing for a long while, but gaming as a whole still excites me a great deal. It's still my primary mode of entertainment, above TV, books and films by far. I should probably try and moderate it a little bit more and divert some more of my time towards reading, or finding some great old films to watch. Oh well.

I've already sort of lost it. Yeah I'll play games every now and again. I'll even buy some games (My brother buys most games and I just play them) if I think they look good enough. However I not as interested in gaming as I used to be. I spend most of my time doing other stuff like going on the computer, on forums or working with Blender. Out with my mates or at the gym... I don't know, some times I just have no desire to play my games or complete them. Though to be honest this feeling comes and goes. Some months all I can think about is gaming... Others I just can't be arsed with it.

I can kinda relate to this.

I haven't touched my own PS3 in three months, and I really have no desire to anytime soon. I find myself focusing on relationships with my family and friends and just wanting to hang out with the people I care about. Games and movies used to cut into that time somewhat, but not anymore. It's funny how our perspectives on things can change so quickly.

I may pick it back up again in the future, but for now I'm taking an extended break from "gaming" as a whole.

There just comes a point where you realize that the time you just spent playing a game could have been spent doing something more productive, be it with school or work. Not saying that I don't play anymore, it's just that the opportunity cost is much higher now.

My interest fluctuates. Usually (and more often now that I'm in college) I just put the time I would normally put into games directed at the stock market and investing, which is by far the more rewarding option. However, I'm not above sinking into my chair with a bag of Goldfish and a dozen ramune, booting up Oblivion/Fallout/anything that I can play for hours on end without even looking at a clock.

Then I just go back to researching commodity derivative futures fundamental analysis.

Yeah I know what you mean. Deep down inside I love playing them but after awhile it gets kinda boring so I just unplug for a bit. Sometimes for a month at a time. Nothing's wrong with that.

uhh... not general gaming, but I've taken a few stabs at MMOs, just casually, so not levelling extremely fast. I always just seem to drift away from it.

It happens to me alot, I got bored with repetition very quickly.
I had to force myself to finish the latest Splinter Cell and Assasin's Creed two just because I was just annoyed by the same old, oh look new scenery but you're doing damn near the exact same thing every time. Or even a game like starcraft 2, you'd expect with so many units that each match would be a new and interesting thing, but no, people just spam the same damn units over and over. Protoss? Stalkers/Voids, Zerg Roaches, Hydras, or Mut, Terran: Marines/Mauraders.
That and very few people play for the fun of it anymore, too many people get over competitive in multiplayer and goofing around doesn't work.
For example, I remember loving L4D1 because it was so forgiving in terms of letting you run around and act like idiots but in the second if you try to forge alone or go around and explore you're going to get screwed very easily.

It happens from time to time, like right now. Usually I tend to go out and just get me a new game or find something else to occupy myself with until the next big release, but since I'm more or less only home on weekends I can't justify getting a new game. I might start a new playthrough on an RPG to entertain me for a few hours/days. Fallout 3 is great in the way that even an armor mod that looks ridiculously awesome can get me to play it for yet another 20 hours.

Oh well, at least I have Starcraft 2 I can suck at for a bit longer until something I absolutley must have is released.

Yes. I currently pretty much have. Despite having something like 75 games I still need to play. >_>

Games have always been one of my favorite hobbies. I've been playing them since I was about 5. For some reason I've started to lose interest in games recently. I can't seem to put my finger on exactly what the reason is though. It's not that games aren't fun anymore. I actually just bought Mafia 2 and had a blast playing it. But see the thing is...I played it for 2 days (on my days off) and I didn't beat it, but now I have no desire to play it anymore and see the ending. I just lost the interest to play, even though I was having fun with it.

Another example: I patiently waited for over a decade for Starcraft 2 to be released. When it finally was, I played the first few missions and then promptly forgot about it before I forced myself to finish the game a month later.

I don't think it's because I'm getting older. I'm only 25. Has anyone else ever gone through periods like this where gaming just doesn't hold your interest like it used to?
Its happened to me. I think if you give it a break and don't play anything much after a while you'll think "I fancy a game of ____" You've probably played a bit too much recently. But yeah just wait a while and you'll find yourself wanting to play again.

Call of duty Black ops, an I the ONLY one who give a rat's ass about that game?
I'm rather excited for it after I heard about the stuff they added and it's not just MW2 again...
