The elevator ride in Mass Effect. I don't really see the point. I pretty much prefer a loading screen because there's nothing happening in the elevator anyway. Or at least let me talk to my companions during the ride.

They did do those news updates during the Elevators, but I know what you mean. They were just trying something different I think so that loading screens didn't interrupt the "flow" of the game, but I think its really unavoidable. Can't blame theme for wanting to try something different.

OT: In Pong I really hated how they gave that other guy a paddle. Made the game too hard.

EDIT: Now that I think about it those damn voices in Okami when you talk to villagers. Seriously were they trying to make you want to jam pencils into your ears?

Yeah I get it but they could have let us move the character. I could entertain myself by firing the pistol up into the sky.

Yeah I agree, but like I said I think they were just trying to make things as cinematic and realistic as possible...which I don't think is the best idea. Sometimes things can't be boring just for the sake of continuity.

Don't you know? That was the best part of the game!

Hearing that screech every other second, especially in tight corridors were touching enemies was almost unavoidable.... I still hear it in my sleep.

Ever get really annoyed by a feature in a game? Constantly. There are few games where a feature does not annoy me at some point.

Weren't those only in the PC version?

Unskippable cutscenes in any game. Also, the inability to pause during longer cutscenes.

How could I have forgotten that? If MGS4 cutscenes were unskippable I..

Hey Listen!

yeah, that was sort of annoying.

Also, in Fable, how you end up looking about 80 years old... Its not that long of a game and no one else ages.

Unskippable cutscenes and tutorials >.<

"Press X to jump!"
"ahh, done this 1000 times already" *runs to the end of the level*
"no start again, i told you to jump >:I"

Oh and then you get long unskippable strings of dialogue and accidentally press "repeat" at the end 5 times >.<

Nah, 360 had 'em too. The only problem was that they'd last for about a quarter of the ride. For the rest of it it would just be cheesy future muzak and awkward shuffling.

Oh I liked them, mine would be the mining in ME2, whoever thought that up needs to apologize.

Nope, they are on the Box of the X variety as well. You know that whole "In other news, some jerk from ExoGeni had sex with a Krogan corpse" or something or other.

Isn't there some sort of program or mod that lets you skip all the cutscenes you want? Well, there should be! I really don't want to go through all those cutscenes if I want to replay Mass Effect.

Seconded for unskippable cutscenes and the inability to pause during them.

Specifically, the Cannibal perk in Fallout 3 was one which I thought could be handy to keep my health high after a gunfight. My playstyle revolves around going straight to Operation: Anchorage, getting the Chinese Steatlh Armor, then getting my level up to 12 as quick as possible so I can grab the Silent Running perk.

For the few who may not know, the Chinese Stealth Armor allows you to be invisible while crouched and Silent Running lets you move at full speed while sneaking without making any noise.

Unfortunately, the Cannibal perk works a similar way, letting you devour human corpses for a 25 HP boost and a 1 point loss to karma, which is an option you can only select if you're crouched.

With that setup, my options are limited to staying crouched and going through a dialogue box asking me whether to devour or search every time I want to search, or stand up and break my invisibility which can expose me to enemies I didn't know were there.

A very minor gripe, yes, but this got more annoying than I initially thought it would.
